I don't want to sign up for a 1911 or S&W forum for this one issue. Someone here must know what I'm looking for. I have a S&W PC1911 (Lightweight Commander bobtail) with totally dead night sights. They are Novak cut. I just don't know what I can replace them with, or if I need to put my calipers on the old ones to find out what size they are. Anyone?

If you are happy with your POA/POI, then measure what you have, go to Dawson and buy your new sights.
There is also a sight calculator tool at Dawson in case you want to make any changes.

You can also contact Trijicon and they will relamp the sights. You send them the slide. IIRC they charge around $75 to do it. Regards 18DAI

Yes, I just had a set of Trijicon's relamped last week for $57. But I knew they were Trijicons when I sent them in. Pretty sure these on the S&W aren't Trijicons. But I guess they could be, just worn off paint. I did send Trijicon another set a few years ago to relamp and they mailed them back, said they weren't Trijicons. Ooops. But 10+ years of carrying and shooting can sometimes wear off the markings.

Been checking out that Dawson site.

I called Trijicon to ask what they have for this gun, as it's not very clear on their website. The guy said they don't make anything for S&W and to call Fusion Firearms. WTF? There are plenty of S&W-compatible models on Trijicon's website. Fusion's website also shows Trijicons for their Novak-cut night sights. I guess I should call S&W, but I doubt they're going to encourage me to buy a brand other than their crazy expensive "proprietary" sights for this gun.

Trijicon

I refuse to deal with them after they refused to work on clearly marked Trijicon sights that they proclaimed to be made by them for another manufactured! Big buck for very poor customer service. One of many companies that survive, thanks to govt contracts (tax payer dollars)!

I bought some Truglos on eBay, listed as Novak 1911 night sights. They don't even come close to fitting. How to deal with this? I don't want to spend more than I have to, but I'm getting to the point that I just want to mail my slide to someone. I can easily install night sights at home, but all the diagrams I see online show dimensions for everything except the dovetail cuts. I don't care about blade height or width. I need something that fits these dovetails. What to do?

I am having a similar problem. I am going to send my slide to Novak, They will install their sights for 35 bucks over the cost of the sights you want.
I just have to figure out which sights I want.

Novak charges way more than I want to have into this project. I'll take the Truglos to my local 1911 guru today and see if he recommends shaving the sights or enlarging the dovetail cuts or doing something else.
