I can only attest for the P320. I like mine, but it has been swapping around the FCU for versatility that I like most.

Other than the Five-seveN, I haven't gotten around to any of the FN pistols yet. The hammer-fired models interest me the most because I want to see how they'll compare to my H&Ks. I'll also give at least one of their striker-fired models a try and then post something in this thread about it when I get a chance. I've held the 509 a number of times at my LGS and the grip was fine for me. I'll have to see how it shoots. I probably won't get into the Caniks though. They are ultimately just Walther clones and other than the price, I haven't found anything compelling about them. They do seem to be the best of the Turkish pistols though. You should try a Canik. Even as a range rental with the cheapest TP9SF model, you won't regret the experience. Even setting aside its lower price point, it's quite the impressive shooter that compares favorably against strikers more than double its price. I don't understand the FN509 following that the gun has; it's a pretty meh pistol to me. So-so to average blocky ergonomics, coupled with a very mediocre trigger that arguably exceeds a factory Glock trigger as worst right out of the box. I understand that it has some very important quality and reliability improvements over the predecessor FNS9, but it's somewhat ironic that the 'faulty' FNS9 is a better shooter between the two, at least for me and my circle of occasional range compadres. 5 for the FNS9, 1 for the FN509 (its owner, of course), and 2 that say that they're both garbage. One other you should consider trying is the Beretta APX (Gen2). Aside from the really crappy so-called 'serrations' on the Gen1, I didn't think it was a bad shooter at all. The Gen2 cleans up the slide and seems just as sound internally as the Gen1 was. A lot of carryover (the good stuff, I suppose) from the Gen1. Decent enough trigger, friendly ergonomics that points well even for this guy and his Glock-infused hands. Beretta has been aggressively pricing the APX for a while now; the symptom of an overcrowded and somewhat sluggish marketplace. -MG

Thanks, MB. Actually, the Beretta is already on my list. In no particular order, the list currently contains the Beretta APX, FN 509, CZ P10, Caracal F, and S&W M&P9. Basically, my process has just been to find a great deal, keep the pistol for a little while, and then just trade it in for the next one on my list (unless I really like it enough to keep). I may squeeze in the Canik since I hear so many great things. Formerly known as tigerbloodwinning
