Sig P220 Stainless Elite weight vs S.E. Carry weight? Login/Join

Hello,

I am trying to figure something out, but no luck so far.

What is the weight of the Sig P220 Stainless Elite Carry? I see the Sig P220 Stainless Elite [full sized] listed as 39.1 oz.

On another site, I see the Stainless Elite Carry listed as 39.1 oz [strange, for 1/2" less barrel and slide.]

On another site, I see the Stainless Elite Carry listed as 30.1oz [seems like 9 oz is a bit much for 1/2" of barrel and slide].

I don't have a good scale: only one for human bodies, so +/- 2 lbs around 275lbs, but not good enough for ounces like this.

Does anyone have access to old website info from Sig?

I picked up a Stainless Carry Elite, used, this year- with no case or manual- and can't find a straight answer about the firearm weight.

Any tips would be appreciated.

thank you!

One is fully stainless, which is the 39 Oz one, the other has a stainless slide, BUT the frame is an alloy, not stainless. These elites with the alloy frame are lighter and most were a special batch made for distribution by TALO.

Are you referring to the Alloy Frame as the 30oz weight?

Ok- that makes sense.

However, it doesn't resolve my original question: weight difference between the 4.4" and 3.9" versions of the Stainless Elite Carry.

Both are stainless slide and stainless frame, and both seem to be listed as 39oz.

For example:

Buds listing of Stainless Elite Carry

buds listing of Stainless Elite

My pistol is the Stainless Elite Carry as depicted here. A few other sites have images of the one with a smaller beavertail- but mine is as shown at the first link.

Both links list the same weight.

I was just trying to figure out if the Carry slide was made heavier to compensate for the shorter length and loss of barrel mass- equaling a pistol with the same weight.

OR, how much lighter is the Carry in Stainless Elite?

Hmmmm…

Doing more research shows a pattern. Carry P220 weights are the same as FS P220 weights.

Stainless P220 FS weight is same as Carry P220 weight.

Difference between Equinox [stainless slide & allow frame] P220 FS and Stainless Elite P220 is 9 oz.

Difference between Equinox Carry P220 and Stainless Elite Carry P220 is 9oz.

So- are the Carry Slide/barrel assembly the same weight as the FS Slide/Barrel Assembly?

IF the numbers I am reading [from Buds- not Sig] are accurate, that is the only logical conclusion.

Yet, these numbers are NOT from Sig- and all are from a sales center that may be cut/pasting without editing properly.

Anyone know if the uppers are the same weight?
