vthokyWho's got 5+ P226 magazines and a set of calipers?
I'm working on designing and 3D printing a gadget for my brother, and I need to know some basic dimensions on the standard P226 (9mm) magazine.
The dims I'm after are the width of the magazine body, the width of the base plate, and the distance from the base plate to where it tapers at the "top."
Thank you, SF, for your help.
(There's a reason I ask who's got five or more....)

1KPerDayDo you want the distance from the REAR bottom of the mag to the beginning of the taper along the rear/sides as you go up, or to the stop of the taper near the feed lips, or what?

1KPerDaySIG dovetail 9mm mag width .812-.815”
Baseplate width .995-.999”
Distance from bottom including baseplate to the bottom of the small taper Just below the feed lips approx 4.588”
Distance from bottom to the start of the large taper moving up approx 3.794”
Second example dovetail:
Width .809-.813”
Width of baseplate .998”-1.001”
Others are inexact points enough to be user error

1KPerDayMec Gar SP226-17 stainless, metal baseplate
Width .805-.807”
Baseplate width 1.003-1.005”
Bottom caliper jaw on baseplate and top jaw point on beginning of taper going up approx 3.812”
Same but point on the start of the sharp taper below the lips 4.587”
Second stainless mec gar width .810”
Baseplate width 1.004”
Taper measurements not accurate or repeatable enough to be useful.
Mec gar 18-round AFC coated, plastic baseplate MG-P226-9:
Width .807-.810”
The rest will not be useful measurements due to the different baseplate which is 1.141” wide and approx .270” thick.
Hope this helps

vthokyThat's exactly the information I needed, 1K, thank you!
Thank you, too, for pointing out the mild differences in width by mag manufacturer.
I'll email you this evening.
