I own quite a few Nighthawks, but I really love their 9mm commanders. This one balances perfectly in hand. Cool

Anyone else a fan of Nighthawks?

That's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, that is.

No, I own no Nighthawks. I love their work, but, they're well outside my budget.

I must have a similar budget to ensigmatic, but that is one beautiful gun.

Of course you do, and of course you tell us this.

Money doesn't make a man, but I get the impression that that is what you think.

I also think you think members here are envious of your ostentatious displays, but, truth be told, I feel somewhat sorry for you.

LMAO!

Don’t go feeling too sorry for me. The gun business is a side show. I enjoy it and I enjoy sharing knowledge. I don’t give a flying frig about whether or not people feel envious.

You seem compelled to comment in all my threads with immature insults, thus drawing more attention to them. I kind of feel sorry for you, truth be told, so we are even.

No, I'm posting with a purpose. It's the timing of this thread of yours, you see. You put it up during our exchange here: https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...935/m/8680081005/p/1

Now, I've been running this place a long time, and I've seen everything under the sun, and you putting up this thread during that exchange, is not a coincidence.

I know you think we're all impressed and that you are adding something to the forum, but, really, it's become tedious. What you're doing is not "sharing knowledge" as you claim. It boils down to you saying- repeatedly- "here, these are the pistols I own." That's pretty much it. You don't convey much of anything at all about the experience of shooting all these pistols you buy, and, frankly, I don't think you shot in a match recently, as you've claimed. I think you throw a bunch of money at objects and then go online and show us how much you have. It comes across as remarkably shallow.

To me, this kind of comment is illustrative of the odd, shallow way you seem to view the world. I've been dropping hints to you in an effort to perhaps snap you out of your self-absorbed trance, yet what you take from it is that I am confounding myself by drawing attention to your posts, and that's just weird.

I think it's best that you just take your fancy gun collection and your two-dimensional posting habits elsewhere.

I know damn well who “runs this place”

I run my own business and employ a few hundred people. I’m not interested in yours, trust me.

Good Lord

I shoot matches every other week, by the way. I have zero reason to state ANYTHING untrue. They are local matches to me. Nothing huge.

I take this as a test to see if you still have posting rights. Well, you do.

You seem to forget that there is no need for me to argue with you. I could, at any point, delete any thread of yours with two mouse clicks, or disable your account just as quickly. My point its that if I had wanted you gone, I could have done it and there would be no bandying of words at all. Therefore, the things I have said to you must have been said with some sort of purpose, but I just couldn't get through to you, so...

Now, if you wish to remain a member here, you may feel free to be so, but you have to listen to what I'm trying to tell you. I have a feeling that this is pointless for me to say, but there it is.

It’s all good. No I wasn’t testing anything, but we can leave it at that if you wish.

yes I’ve been here near 20 years.

I don’t post here often, but it’s one of my visits. The AZ was the first gun I’ve posted in a good while

Thank you. You're welcome to stay, and that's unconditional. I would, however, appreciate it if you would consider what I've said to you today, and try to contribute to the forum in a broader fashion.

Certainly fair enough. I will do my best to contribute more. I used to years ago, but my time spent on forums has diminished a bit over time.

Will do my best. Thank you

That's a good looking pistol with a non billboarded slide. I do think the barrel would look a little better with a small flat surrounding edge. I just don't care for the funnel look cut to a sharp edge, minor detail.

Is that an OEM mag funnel?
If so, you'd have thought the fit and finish between the grips and funnel would be more streamline.

Many use a 11 degree barrel crown. Usually not so extreme. I too don't care for the funnel look and, once a crown is cut, polishing up to the lands should be done with utmost care. I've always called Nighthawk the Johnny come lately of custom 1911s because they haven't been around as long as other custom makers. I recall the image of a Nighthawk slide broken in 2 pieces.

It might not be as needed on a 9mm 1911 vs 45 ACP but the mini back chamfer on this guns ejection port does not seem correct. Could be I am wrong but..

Good point. One would think that, for what one pays for a Nighthawk, they could've fitted it with mag funnel grip panels.

It’s an OEM funnel, yes. It’s a slim funnel, which mean the only grips that would fit seamlessly would be thin grips with a flat bottom. I’m not a fan of thin grips. I don’t mind chamfered grips with a thin funnel. If the funnel is standard size, standard width, flat bottom grips work great.

For explanation purposes, here is my Wilson CQB Elite. Magwell is standard, grips are flat bottom.

Like I said above, it’s not a standard magwell on the Bull and I’m not a thin grip fan.

Here’s how it ships from Nighthawk. I simply swapped out the grips for the half checked that I prefer. There’s also a picture of it with thin flat bottom grips.
