Mars_AttacksPicked Up A Smith and Wesson Model 15 today
15-4 with a 2" barrel!
Yes I know those are the wrong grips. I have the proper ones going back on it. I'll probably sell the grips to make the purchase even lower. Needs a little cleaning, but it doesn't even have much of a cylinder ring. Looks like it got beat around a drawer for many years.
Richard was out picking and asked if I wanted it.
I couldn't get the money to him fast enough.

wildheartedson0105Beeeautiful Smith! I had a 2.5" M19-8 years ago.
Never knew they made a K-frame with a barrel shorter than that.
Mean looking snub!

old rugged crossNeat, a belly gun. About the only way to hit anything with it is to stick it in the belly of the bad guy

I can't agree with that. A 2" K-frame can be shot pretty well. Unlike the little J-frames, there is enough weight and mass that the DA trigger is not bad to deal with.
Plus, the DA triggers on the old K-frames tend to be pretty darn good.
Maybe you were just kidding. I'm not looking to give you a hard time. My core point here is that those K-frames are highly shootable, even in 2" configuration.

qxsoupSquare or round butt? If square I'll take them off your hands. I have a model 14 that could use a new (to me) set.

rburgGuess Y'all haven't seen the prices on diamond Magna's recently. Those are prime grips and probably worth $100 or so.

BlackAgnesI always wondered why S&W never made these in a round-butt configuration.

YooperSigsI miss my USAF issued Model 15. Great shooter, but handicapped by the anemic GI ball we were issued. I would jump on a 2 inch if I could find one!

jmkfiveGreat acquisition! My very first handgun was a S&W model 15, serial number 6K94402. In high school I shot it regularly at the gun club with my tribal elders (WWII veterans, great gentlemen one and all) and in matches with the local ROTC rifle team - hand loading 148 grain hollow base wad cutters one round at a time with a LEE Loader. I also carried it in the woods as protection against large South Carolina poisonous snakes - mainly Cottonmouth Water Moccasins, but occasionally also Copperheads and Rattlesnakes. The S&W model 15 was extremely reliable and accurate if you did your part. I have no doubt you'll be very happy with yours!!
