I've been a big Ruger MK fan. I don't know how many I have owned. Probably the most accurate version I've owned was MKII slab slide. Currently have a MKII 678 with Volquartsen trigger and bolt. A great shooter. I also owned a Volquartsen Scorpion that was great fun. Everybody I let shoot it said the same thing. " I got to get me one of these".
Having said all of that I am excited to try my must recent purchase. Thompson Contender with .22LR barrel. Should be fun.

This is the Volquartsen Scorpion I once owned. It was a great shooter no complaints with it during my time of ownership.

Can a bull barrel like this Ruger’s be threaded? If so who would you recommend?

I worked in a very large gun store for almost a decade.
I was the rimfire guy.
I have owned a bunch of center fire and rimfire rifles and handguns.
I sold at store just about any rifle or handgun in rimfire that is possible.
My takeaway from this experience is the following.
There are a number of good and or great rimfire pistols.
The Ruger Mark IV Series is the choice I would make.
You can add additional uppers that are sold separately (serial number on upper) any time you want.
So buy a Hunter or Target and if you want you can add a threaded upper later .
Add a Volquartsen trigger kit and Competition Bolt and you are set.
I my opinion.

I picked up a 322 about a week-10 days ago and really enjoyed the 20 round mag. I ended up putting a SiG RomeoZero Elite on it, and it’s even more fun and it’s been getting all the love lately.

I’ve got a few other 22’s,a couple Rugers, several Beretta, a few 1911’s, the SiG GSG has been flawless but Nelson is my favorite 1911-22, it’s on a tuned Ruger SR1911 receiver with a Stiner optic.

If I had to rank the others, the Colt Cadet, Beretta NEOS and Ruger Hunter are all kinda tied for 3 place (all have been refined, they were pretty rough out of the box.

The one I hope to either be buried with, unless I get a gun-nut grandson, ie a Beretta 70 (22LR)

Yes you can!
I never used it so I had the 4” barrel of my Colt 22 Cadet back-bored and threaded so a suppressor adapter could be installed. I don’t have a picture of it on my picture host but this is before picture.

My local smith wanted $400 to do it but I found a smith in Colorado that charged $125 (IIRC) … check with your local smith but if you need it I’ll see if I can find his info when I get home next week and send you a “after” picture.

I grew up shooting old High Standard autos. I have a soft spot for the Supermatic Trophy. I also have a S&W 41 that I really enjoy as well as an old Colt Match Target. The Ruger MK series are popular and I’ve shot a MKIII a fair amount. Lots of models and lots of aftermarket support. Some of the old S&W revolvers are great as well like the pre 18. This thread has me jonesing for a Beretta 87!

I have a Buckmark Field Target suppressor ready with a Vortex Viper red dot. It is amazing from 7-33yds. Stupid easy to shoot, quiet, no blowback. It killed so many squirrels on my Dad’s bird feeder he demanded I help him with an identical setup.

Very cool Colt 22. There's one sitting at the LGS for long time, might have to acquire...

Hickok45 made me pull out the MKIII 22/45 Lite. I put in the mag safety delete but trigger is not as nice as the MKII. endless project list. Haven't really thought of getting an MKIV but they look cool as well. Cool

Volquartsen can fix that for you!
