There have been a couple of other reports on the 320 XC, but since there seems to be a great deal of interest in the gun, I will relate my experience. 1- Unboxing. No surprise there. The usual Sig paperwork and 2 mags. Born 5-12-19. Paid 680 for it from Buds. 2- Range Prep. I broke it down and inspected it. Factory lubed with a white grease. Cleanly machined and no shavings or debris. Takedown latch is stiff but that is common. 3- Shoot. 250 rounds of mixed Federal AE and Blazer Brass 115gr plinking ammo. Then 50 rounds of Gold Dot HP 115. 100% function. Recoil was somewhat sharper than my standard P320 C 9mm and was transmitted through the flat trigger. Not enough to be a problem but noticeable. Sights are slightly low at 15 yards but may come up with 124gr ammo. The X-Ray sights were serviceable but did not seem to up to the hype. Extraction / ejection was consistent, with cases traveling up and right about 6 feet. Grip is the best of the Sig poly guns, no question. Marked as a medium but feels smaller. The beavertail works well. Trigger was easily controllable and consistent and I would guess its right about 5 pounds. 4. Breakdown / Clean. Inspection after the shoot showed light wear on on the slide interior from barrel movement. Par for the course. No barrel smiley. The LCI makes cleaning the breechface needlessly more of a PITA. The only thing I saw I felt was unusual was quite a bit of wear marks on the rear of the recoil spring assembly. The plate that contacts the barrel showed some friction marks. My other 320s do not show this wear. Its just cosmetic at this point but seems odd. Bottom line: Excellent pistol with all the bells and whistles that would otherwise cost you extra to put on a 320 C. Is it a Glock beater? Maybe not a beater but it is tied. The grip makes the gun. This message has been edited. Last edited by: YooperSigs, End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I was impressed with mine but even more surprised with the G45 I brought to the range to shoot along side it.. ______________________________________________ Life is short. It’s shorter with the wrong gun…

I love mine. Stellar gun right out of the box. Historically, I’ve preferred the orange outline on the front sight that Trijicon and Ameriglo offer with their sights. I would love to see Trijicon offer a front sight and rear sight plate set that also acts as an adapter for an RMR. Accuracy is great, trigger is great. It’s a tie between it and my P365 for what gets carried these days. _______________ #COMMUNISTMANBAD

Mine arrived today, just wiped it down good. Thought the X-ray sights would be brighter than they are, but. Range visit planned for Wednesday. Thanks for your report!

I'm curious to hear from those who have the X-Compact as well as the P365....do each have a place? That is, how much overlap is there between platforms? ________________ tempus edax rerum

I have the x-compact grip frame with compact slides, and with the subcompact slide. The x-compact pistol is an x-compact slide with a subcompact frame. I also have a few P365's and have been carrying one lately. The P365 is considerably more compact; it's an excellent pocket pistol. The x-compact is more suited to other means of carry, such as inside the waistband. The x-compact is more hand filling, and offers a more complete grip than the P365. The x-compact also offers the full 15 rounds, where the P365 can be used with a 15 round magazine...which makes it bigger (taller) than a G19 when inserted. The 15 round P365 magazine is grossly out of proportion to the pistol, and the magazine itself is taller than a G19 magazine or a P320 magazine. If I were going to have the luxury of picking a pistol knowing I'd be in a gunfight, I'd want the fullest grip with the greatest capacity; the P365 wouldn't be my first choice to carry into a fight. It's a compromise for size when carrying concealed. (In terms of the P320, I'd take a full size, all else being equal--and a rifle if the choice were available...but for comparison purposes between the x-compact and the P365, the x-compact would be a better choice, I think). That said, the P365 is very concealable, and offers a capacity which is surprising when you first handle the pistol. It's easy to shoot, and the manual of arms and handling is as if it were a slightly shrunken P320. It's a good companion to a P320. I like both. I've put straight triggers on my P320's and on the P365's, and like them even better.

What does this straight trigger do for you that the curved one doesn't? It seems somehow counter-intuitive to me.
