Another thought if she really wants and likes a revolver is a Ruger LCR in .327?

Can load it with .32 H&R which is still quite potent but recoil will be much softer than full .327 loads.

The trigger on the LCR is REALLY nice and feels FAR lighter than it's rating. If I ever went back to a snubnose, this is what I'd carry.

Ruger LCR .327

Any ammo for the 327 has been hard to come by.

Edit: just looked and some 32 ammo is now available. Maybe a good choice.

These go to eleven.

I have the Ladysmith J frame that's probably 20+ years old. I'm the original owner and it came with the rosewood grips.

It's like any other J frame. Recoil was a bit stout with those small grips and I replaced them with some ebony Eagle grips. Much better but I still don't like extended shooting sessions with it.

I like the gun but prefer my Shield and unless I have to dress or wear things a certain way, it's hardly ever carried.

Keep in mind the heavier j-frame revolvers (steel) have lighter trigger pulls and recoil less. She needs to determine the trade-off.
