Nothing fancy, but recently had my HP refinished, the frame was done by CCR in House Black CeraHide, while all the other parts were done in Ion Bond DLC matte black.

I have other grips , but the Hogues fit my hand the best. This pistol has a 357 Sig conversion barrel, I had the original 40 cal barrel hard chromed.

Also had Mahovsky's Metalife hard chrome the side and barrel of my LCPII when I sent the HP barrel.

One of the few designs I feel that was properly re-engineered for the .40. Very nice! How do you like that SFS system?

I like it, but it takes a learning curve to get used to, if you use SA autos. The main movement of pressing the hammer down to activate the safety, is kind of opposite of traditional SA works.

The SFS system does make the HP a little more compact while carrying, but does add more parts to the ignition action.

I purchased this Hi Power last year, while trying to decide between it, and the Limited run of CZ 1911 pistols. To have a Hi Power in 357 Sig appealed to me more, after reading a Sig Forum members converting their 40 cal to the 357 Sig caliber.

The only drawback to the 40 cal Hi Power is the really stiff recoil spring, racking the slide to chamber a round is quite an effort compared to other pistols, and you can't go to a lower weight recoil spring.

The Ion Bond is a tough finish. Now I can carry the HP in kydex without any finish wear.

IMHO, that's the only way to fly if you're going to go to that kind of cost and effort.

Very nice! I had a 40 but sold it since I had trouble racking the slide. Today, I would buy another.
