762APISig P-226 Barrel in 94 9mm P-220?
I have a couple of nice W. German 94 production 9mm 220s, they're only about 300 off on the S/Ns.
I'm sort of thinking of getting a threaded barrel for one, I've toyed with the idea of diving in to the suppressor party, and the 220 9mm seems like the perfect candidate for it.
Higher sights would of course be required, but as all the upgrades and "improvements" in the 226 series over the last 30 years or so, I'm wondering if a current production 226 barrel would work.
Has anyone done this, and, if there were any modifications needed, what did that involve?
Gratuitous pic of the 220s.
Thanks.

taguinAt one point the barrels for the 9mm 220 and 226 were forward and backward compatible. A current production 226 barrel will probably require minor fitting to fit properly in a German 9mm 220.

Abn556I had a late 80s P220 Euro with the mag heel release in 9mm. Those single stack 9mm P220s had great SA triggers in them. I bought it at a US Army Rod & Gun Club in Augsburg, Germany for around $350 in 1988.

bczrxNot EXACTLY the same, but I was able to drop a new P226 9mm barrel into a '94 P220 in .38Super and it works flawlessly.
I would think you would have no issues with it.

You have an extra barrel to sale now, you say?

Appreciate the info.
Thanks.

CitadelI have a 9mil 220 and had the .30 Lugar barrel from Barstow fitted to it. The barrel is listed for the 226 but works in the 220. Of course they recommend it be checked by a gunsmith. Haven’t had a chance to put rounds through it yet.
