Looking at round counts in subcompacts...

Question:
How many rounds do you have through your Kahr 9mm...post any issues or problems you have had that may be tied to hard use...

Choices:
Under 500
500-1000
1000-2000
2000-4000
Over 4000
Over 10,000

About 12-14 years ago so cant remember specifics about our Kahr pistols, but this is the gist...

I owned 3 different Kahr P9s, none had more than 1,000 rounds through them. I found them to be finicky for ammo preference.

My wife owned a Kahr K9, P9, and T9. Same thing, finicky for ammo preference.

I've had a K9, PM9, P9, and CW9. All had somewhere between 500-1000 each through them. I can't recall any issues with any of them. They shot well and carried even better.

I had a K9. Accurate as could be "when" I did my job. However I just shot striker fired guns better than DAO. Too bad really, I really wanted to like that gun. This past spring, I took the K9 and a small collection of other pieces down to my local gun store / fun store and put them on consignment. After the dust settled, I had enough store credit to come home with a Sig P365, a new Ruger PCC 9mm carbine and a case of 9mm's.

P40's, K40. The K40, no problems. Of the P40's, three had to go back to Kahr repeatedly. Kahr lost one for a time. I got it back nine months later. Still didn't work. Second round out of the magazine after coming back from Kahr, it blew up in my hand. Burned my hand, and face. Peening of the barrel hood, firing out of battery, numerous issues, slide stop falling out. A lot of feed issues. I gave it serveral thousand rounds and multiple trips back to Kahr, barrel replacements, etc, and now it sits in the safe, no closer to being right. Same for the others. I wanted them to work, and tried to get them there. They just weren't having it.

I have a Kahr PM40 and P380. The polymer rails only function is for alignment during reassembly. The embedded metal rails serve the normal rail function. The rails do shave quite a bit during the first several hundred rounds as is establishes a wear pattern. My Kahrs have been good to me, they can be quirky but I'm a tinkerer. Hard to beat the size.

I have around 1,000 rounds through my MK9 and almost as many through my MK40. The pistols have operated flawlessly.

Now I just want Justin Moon to make me a MK9 in a double stack. That would give Sig's P365 market something to worry about.

970 thru the CM9, 1200 in the PM9 (which is now a safe queen).

The only problems I had were on the range with the extended 7 (8?)rd mags, I got rid of them.

Fine guns. I've had a dozen MK9s, K9's, P9's, and PM9's. I've never had a problem with them. That said, I never ran more than 1000 rounds thru any of them as they were carry guns and not range guns.

I've owned a P9 for 15 years and had to guess on the number of rounds based on regular practice, rotating carry rounds, etc. So at least 3000 rounds. No problems if I use the slide release like the owner's manual instructs. The mags have a tendency to loose the top round if not in a mag holster of some kind.

I do wish the trigger travel was a bit shorter.

Overall I like it.

I purchased a PM9 used. Long trigger stroke. Sent back to Kahr with peened barrel & multiple failures. Received back from Kahr with new barrel. Went to range & firing pin broke on 2nd mag. Back to Kahr & they replaced the whole top end. Great customer service. Sold the gun as I had lost confidence. Obviously I had a lemon.

CM9 - Failure to fire right out of the box. Bought new firing pin from Kahr & fixed the issue. Mag followers eaten away - replaced by Lakeline product. Mags not feeding properly - replaced by Wolff +5% springs. Spent $200 trying to fix a $349 gun. I don't trust it & likely never will.

MK9 Elite 03 - Purchased used from another member here who is a Kahr fan....no issues.

I had the plastic shaving at 200 rounds. I was told it was normal. Finished two cases without incident. My wife decided she preferred toe Sig P320, so the Kahrs went away. BTW, now is a great time to buy one used. I'm seeing them for 250-300 with night sights.

K9 Elite owner. Love the pistol and haven't had a problem with it.
Summer carry so this is what's on my belt right now.

Slightly off topic, but my CM9 fits in a pocket, though it takes up a little more room than my LCP.

Bought used. I put 500 through it but you can tell it has at least 2000 or more. Solid little PM9
