I own a few Sigs (226, 228) that have the short reset trigger.
I've had a P228(CPO) that I bought sometime ago, and I haven't shot it in awhile. I decided to put the SRT on.
I wanted to compare the CPO, untouched, with one of the others I had with the SRT.
This one reset in the same place, seems like about an 1/8" - 1//4" on the letup. Tried several times and did a hand to hand comparison.
The CPO has the original trigger on it, but I'm unfamiliar with the SRT using the old style triggers.
Was that done?

Yes, but the short reset trigger kit does not even have a trigger.

There is a Short Trigger which is a Trigger and it cannot carry the standard fat trigger. Then there is the Short Reset Trigger Kit which is a new Safety lever and new Sear but without any trigger.

Some SIG P-series pistols come stock with the short reset trigger kit (sear and safety lever). Some of these models have the regular trigger, some have the SIG "reduced reach" or "short" trigger. The SRT kit can be used with any type of trigger that will fit the P-series pistol.

And of course, the SRT sear and safety lever may have been added to any P-series pistol by a prior owner.

It is pretty easy to tell if your pistol has the SRT sear and safety lever or not. Remove the right grip panel. Look at the trigger action parts and identify the trigger bar, safety lever, and sear. The trigger bar will move forward as you pull the trigger rearward. There is an upward projecting tab on the trigger bar that will ride underneath a rectangular tab as the trigger is pulled and reset. With the standard sear and safety lever, that tab will be on the safety lever. With the SRT kit installed, that tab will be on the sear.
