Thank you for all of your replies. They are very informative.

My wife shoots a 75B all steel pistol due to the low recoil. She has bad hands so recoil hurts her and causes her hands to swell up but the steel CZ with some Hogue grips let's her enjoy shooting without any pain. Doesn't hurt that it's a hell of a great pistol to begin with. I put in CGW's short reset kit that made the trigger lighter and glass smooth.
I imagine a Shadow 2 or Sp01 with the full length dust cover and rail would be only better at mitigating any recoil.
That being said, I'd still grab my P09 over anything else in my home if I knew I was going to a fight.

How old are the folks involved?

Any issues with hand strength?

My pick would be the CZ 805 Bren.

Hand strength is not an issue, but for some reason wrist strength is another matter.

Reference CZs: whether p07/p09 the felt recoil is equal to the 75 seiries. The Rami’ recoil is identical to the full size 75. So, my recomendation to you and your wife, pick a CZ with an accessory rail for light and laser placement.
