stylophilesGot me a “1805 Harpers Ferry” pistol
Been looking for a nice repro, Pedersoli makes one, but there are mixed reviews regarding actually shooting them. One that I heard about over and over was the Belgian reports from the 1960s… The pictures I saw looked pretty good, so I sort of just kept an eye out. Found one reasonably priced (especially compared to what the Pedersoli go for) and grabbed it.
Down side: the lockplate being case colored and screws fire blued maybe not what you might call “remotely historically accurate”, but damn do they look
sharp!
It also looks to be rifled instead of smooth bore, but I’m still looking forward to making some smoke and noise with it as soon as I get some .54 round balls delivered!

limblessbiffWhere’d you get it? As a former MP I’ve always wanted one

pace40Very nice and more fun than imagined. I've been looking for a .62cal smoothbore to go with my Wymore fowler. Just missed a Frasier French Trade at Track of the Wolf. Oh well, I'll keep looking. Have fun with it!

m.p.driverAssist,protect,defend, another Ft.McClellan grad, we had a 1st Sgt retiring, bought two of these and had a plaque made for them and a large brass M.P. badge, it looked sharp enough that top got tears in his eyes.

stylophilesFound this one on Gunbroker. I missed out on one on another website a few years ago, and have been looking off and on ever since, so I went for it.
Throws a big ol shower of sparks, so I am optimistic it’s going to perform well, ignition wise anyway. We will see if I can actually hit anything with it!
