Hello all,
I’m in the mood to buy another striker-fired pistol, but I’m at a loss as to what to get. I have P320s in 9mm and 45, PPQs in 9mm(4”& 5”) and 45, VP9 and VP9SK. Glocks include Gen4 19 MOS, Gen5 34, Gen3 22, 30s, 43, 42. Is there anything in the striker-fired world that I’m truly missing out on? I’ve done some research on the APX and M&P 2.0, and they are tempting, but do they offer anything above what I already have? Whatever it might be, will probably be just a range toy unless it just blows my socks off. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Are you looking to go a bit exotic? If so, how about a FN Five-Seven?

Based on what you own, which mirrors my collection, go pick up a Steyr M-A1 9mm (a post 2012 model) and let me know what you think.

Maybe the P365. Regardless of what you've heard my
P365 is flawless. Feels great in the hand. I did have those primer drags (Pretty stout ones) but just ran 200 rounds through it out on my desert and
there is aa very wee bit now. I was firing my G43 too and until I actually checked the cases closely the primer drag wasn't there any more.
I wasn't concerned about it anyway.
Try to find a P365 to check out. (Firing it) I think you'll buy one.
Stay safe

P.S.
My favoite of my five pistols...my P320 Compact.

I second the Steyr M9-A1... my favorite striker fired pistol due to its accuracy, trapezoidal sights, low perceived recoil, great trigger and grip profile. I think it outshines the CZ P10C, another one you may want to consider.

Repeat after me...TEN EM EM. Less about the system and more about the media.

G40 will suffice. Nicely, in fact. Sure it's a Glock, but you can take down bears with it. How can you not fall in love with that? Wink

As for the rest: the P-10C and TP9SF range (now that Canik has apparently separated themselves from Century Arms) are two that I'd put up against the best striker triggers, which are well represented with the guns that you already have. Whether you care to add guns that emulate the VP9 and PPQ...well, that's more to satisfy one's curiosity than anything else. IMHO. The P99 AS to me is a must get, and it operates somewhat differently than most of the striker world (aside from what Canik has copied).

I like the APX Compact and 2.0 9 Compact well enough but they really don't do anything more than the strikers you already have. The 509 and FNS are about the same. The American Compact is in that group as well, though not everyone appreciates the amount of trigger takeup and reset travel it has. About those guns that ship out of Geneseo, Il...well someone else will have to address that company's guns since they are dead to me. As for Steyrs, I don't care for the ergonomics but many seem to love the things. And the only one I've ever shot was a stovepiping nightmare.

Then there's the H9...definitely 'kinda out there'. If you want something that's unique and pushes boundaries in the striker world, I'd say it qualifies. I've not shot one yet and I hear they can be challenge when it comes to reliability, but it is a different take on a striker.

Are you asking if you're missing anything or missing out on anything?

Missing anything? Yeah, there's a number of other options. Like you said the APX and the M&P 2.0, and as others said the Steyr L/M/S. But also the FNS/509, Ruger American, CZ P10, and SAI XDM (I wouldn't but they exist). There's others that are clones or are lesser respected, like the Canik.

As for missing out, well that's subjective. The only one that has a trigger that's as good or better than what you have is the M&P 2.0. The Steyr isn't bad, just not my cup of tea with the grip angle, sights and indistinct reset. I really enjoyed shooting the FNS, even though it's not fantastic, there's something I just really liked. Then there's the P7, which is just a cool design. I think the trigger is so-so, but with the fixed barrel it's hella accurate. But they're spendy these days. And the hype has disappeared on them but the Hudson H9 has the cool factor.

I just got done going around and around in an argument that exists for reasons I don't understand, and subject of it all was the Archon Stryk B.

So I'll say Archon Stryk B. Apparently the sole source in the US is an outfit called Rain6.

And if you haven't gotten jiggy with the Steyr M or L series, you are most emphatically missing out on something great in the striker-fired world.

Soggy,

Which model Steyr stove-piped? Just curious as Steyr redesigned their extractor on the A1 series to eliminate FTE and I have ~ 2K rounds through mine with all sorts of 9mm ammo w/o a single failure.

Take a look at the Springfield Armory XDM 5.25, it's a good range toy.

Get a steyr. I went with the L9-A1 and it’s a blast. That or a G20 like others have said. It’ll put a smile on your face when you shoot some underwood through it.
I wouldn’t get a canik. If I wanted a Walther, I’d just get a Walter instead of a Turkish knockoff. And the XDM is very underwhelming.

I like the Steyr also. The CZ P10 is of interest.

Another vote for the Steyr lineup. I have the S9A1and I think it's got one of the best striker fired triggers I've ever shot. The S9A1 is sized comparably to a Glock 26.
