I guess they are available before the 20th. I picked a 17 and mounted a RMR HD. Spoiler alert- it’s a Glock. The same tried and true design with a few twists.

I like the frame. I think that it is largely the reason it has a slow rolling recoil impulse like a tuned Gen3 34. The texturing isn’t that aggressive but is a nice touch.

I don’t like the trigger. Well it’s going to take me time to get used to not having a wall. One shot draws and bill drills really didn’t cost any more time than usual. Best I can explain it or compare it to is a Ghost Edge trigger. I don’t have any time on the Glock Performance Trigger. I’m usually not a fan of flat faced triggers but this one doesn’t bother me.

The direct mount for MRDS is neat. It has a channel that you put the polymer adapter on. And then it bolts to the slide. Cool thing is the screws that come with an RMR can actually be used as is. Where with the MOS plates they were too long.

I usually like running a grip plug but none of the old ones fit. But it didn’t slow down reloads without it.

I experienced no holster issues. There was some talk about fit issues with the Safariland 6000 series holsters. All of my holsters worked fine with the x300 attached.

All in all I like it pretty well for the 250 rounds I got down range before dark.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I'll be picking one up as soon as they are available in my area.

For ME:
DA/SA=Sig 9mm or HK P30 LEM 9
Striker fired= Glock 9mm
If it's a .45= 1911
Suppressed= HK in .45
I like anything in 10mm

I suspected this was the case. The vague explanation we got for it from Safariland in that video didn't make bit of sense to me at the time and still doesn't. This is good to know.

How do you like the RMR HD? I'm thinking I ought to pick one up, the larger window and forward light sensor are huge QOL improvements.

Im interested on the new grip texture. I will wait until G45 becomes available at a local store. The only thing Im not liking is that extended beaver tail on the rear of the slide. Any reason for that? This pistol dont have a hammer that may give you a hammer bite. Just wondering what is the purpose of that.

^^^^ Perhaps to mitigate muzzle flip, even if just a little. Also, some folks with fatty hands can have slide slice without it.

The extended beaver tail looks a little long on the Gen 6 but it will certainly help a lot of folks. I could shoot just about any Glock slow fire and never really have an issue with slide bite. Once I started drawing Glocks at speed, the web of my hand stayed calloused or bloody depending on how much I was shooting at the time. I have large hands so I'm sure it will help me.

Regarding the new texture, I do like it and should help but I've never seen any polymer stipple job hold up to hard use so many will still opt for a fresh set of talon grips every so often.

A file will take down that beavertail if you don't like it.

I like the tail, I have good size hands and the slide bites on Glocks without it so I'm always adding one of them that glock provides with the other Gens.

It still has slide rails and they sit very close to the top of the grip. People who shoot them a lot may have permanent train track scars on their hands from shooting glocks.

Palm swell is actually subtle to me. Kinda reminds me of a M&P with the large grip insert.

You nailed it.

The light sensor is a bigger deal to me than the larger window. With the standard RMR, on occasion I get a dot flicker, or maybe adjustment lag whatever you want to call it. During total darkness, a close light colored target with result in a momentary flicker in the dot as it adjusts. You don’t see that on the HD.

I don’t need all the various adjustments that it has but the sensor is a game changer in some situations.

I also like the built in hash mark on top of the housing, I still am very comfortable with the RMR06 but the HD does have advantages in low light/no light. I should shoot a match in the next couple of weeks so I’ll get a better idea. Was going to shoot one on Friday but I drug my feet too long and registration filled up.

Safariland wants to sell everybody a new holster. No different than creating a separate fit code for the 47 when it came out.

I picked up a G45 gen6 last night and look forward to trying it out this week. So far I absolutely love the grip texture and built-in beavertail. I always used the beavertail backstraps, so I really appreciate it being built in.

The trigger reminds me of the feel of the OEM performance trigger, which I had on all of my Gen5’s, and I’m also happy that the trigger safety goes flush into the shoe.

I am looking at the G45 Gen6. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the G45 cost? Did it come with night sight?

I paid MSRP, which is more than I should have paid, but I wanted to get one early enough that I can get it set up for a high-round class at the end of the month so I can really try it out.

It came with standard plastic sights, so I’m putting Ameriglo plain irons on it to back up my red dot.
