I’ve got a spare Caspian frame I’m thinking about building up and wanting a nice reliable target/shooter. I’ve looked at the Colt, Marvel I’ve heard of a Ciner(Sp?) but haven’t seen one, been told that they built the Kimber 22 conversion. I’ve had a Kimber 22 conversion, it was early model, didn’t lock back, the mag springs were sluggish even when clean. I’ve also had a GSG but sold it when I got a SiG 1911-22 for FREE when I bought a Tac-Ops 45 … it’s ok. Any suggestions out there? If you really want something you'll find a way ... ... if you don't you'll find an excuse. I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either

Ceiner, I believe, made the Kimber conversions, at least the one I have. All the old gun rags I read growing up spoke highly of the Marvel unit.

I have a Colt that runs like a top, the Bullseye guys swear by Nelson's (accurate, more so than the Colt, and reliable) https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

Look at Advantage Arms also. Very reliable, steel insert in the slide so the slide stop works, mags are cheap. video/s if interested https://youtu.be/scT5lmSzcDk https://youtu.be/D4R5lkFMpWU --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

These look really nice … I’ve always heard good things about the Marvel 1911-22, is it a coincidence that it’s designed by Bob Marvel?
Thanks for this mention also, I didn’t quite understand the manufacture warning about Federal ammo but then the guy in the first video used Federal? Also, not dry-fire safe but I didn’t see any pricing … Im not in a hurry by any means and it won’t be my typical impulse purchase so pending more research If you really want something you'll find a way ... ... if you don't you'll find an excuse. I have a few of these mentioned (but not the nelson) but in my experience there is the marvel and the rest. With a corresponding price gap to match the quality gap. I am not a big fan of advantage arms, not due to the product per se, but poor customer service experiences. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

I found pricing on the Advantage Arms, it’s in the same range as the Kimber. There’s a ~$100 step between the Advantage & Kimber up to the Marvel depending on which one, and the Nelson is another step up, but if the quality is there, I’d rather buy once/cry once as the saying goes.
