Picked up my new Beretta/ Langdon Elite LTT this afternoon, the 63rd made: I opted for the trigger job and bought the black cherry grips to replace the standard black ones and installed the WC mag guide while doing the initial cleaning and lube. Very nice, well thought out and well executed pistol by Ernest Langdon. Although a bit heavier the trigger is smoother than my Brig Tac and Cen Tac, both with the action tune and chrome silicon springs. Smoothest double action trigger I have ever felt!! Wow. Extremely interested to hear any comparisons between them you experience on the range. Which is your favorite?

I haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet, having just picked it up yesterday afternoon. I will post up my impressions after I finally get a chance to shoot it. Honestly I haven't been to the range in a couple of months, so I'll probably shoot awful anyhow ! As to which is my favorite, that is a tough one. I will say I am really impressed with how well I shoot the Cen Tac, which has a very light and amazing trigger. Usually I shoot a bigger pistol better than a smaller one. The thinner profile grips seem to fit me a bit better too. We will see what the upcoming range trip brings with the LTT.

Congrats! Ernie does great work! Just wish he was still in the Sig business; amazing triggers on a full custom 220ST and 225(with no SRT). NOT compromised! |
I tried the trigger on the LTT with trigger job. Lightest and smoothest I have ever felt on a sa/da pistol.

Just returned from the range where my son and I put about 100 rounds through the LTT. Also dirtied up my P226 SAO Legion, P320 VTAC and Centurion Tactical. Keeping in mind I hadn't shot for a couple of months my impressions of the LTT are very positive and I shot it very well! I really like the sight picture as the front sight really pops, the trigger is smooth as can be with a very crisp SA break (put my Legion SAO to shame), very soft shooter as per usual with a Beretta 92 and very quick back to target. Considering all I shot it very consistently and well. I am not 100% sure about the grips as of yet in that the Cen Tac seemed a bit more natural fit. The pistol stayed locked in my hand with no issues. The one aspect where I definitely favored the Cen Tac is in an area that is a personal issue with me. The trigger, although being as smooth as can be albeit a bit heavier than the Cen Tac broke much closer to the frame in DA, which causes me problems as my hands are pretty beat up after pulling wrenches for almost 35 years. In fact I had given up on a SIG SP2022 that I had put a fair amount of money into because the trigger broke so close to the frame I just couldn't shoot it well. This is not the case with the LTT as I shot it very well regardless, but I did struggle with it some. This may also affect my impressions of the grips. I am sure this is something I could learn to deal with if I shot this pistol exclusively. However I tend to shoot several pistols with all different trigger types when I finally do make it to the range. Also, keep in mind that I have experienced a few light strikes in DA with WWB with the Cen Tac, possibly because the hammer doesn't experience the same amount of arc in DA. I doubt the LTT would have that same issue. This is an OUTSTANDING pistol, and an exceptional Beretta 92 variant. If you are on the fence, rest assured it is worth the $$ IMHO.

#75 checking in...... I'm still partial to my 92A1. Probably cause I've been chasing that particular slide/frame combo for a while.

That's a really nice collection! Let us know how you like the new LTT after the first range trip!

Actually, I'm on the fence between a Langdon Beretta w/trigger job and a P320 VTAC, so you appear to be just the person to ask the question: which one do you prefer? I have a Wilson Brig Tac and P226 SAO Legion, so our tastes seem to run along similar lines. Thanks for any insight you may have.

I really like the P320 platform, but am seriously biased towards Beretta 92s. Having said that I am kind of schitzophrenic when shooting the VTAC as unless I really concentrate on the sight alignment I tend to shoot low with it. Again, I am sure more trigger time would help me resolve that problem to a large extent, and find with close attention to the sight alignment I can generally shoot it pretty well. However, even with the issues I experience in shooting a pistol with a DA trigger break so close to the frame and even though I hadn't shot in a while I shot the LTT very well for me with little effort. If you like the crispness of the trigger of your SAO Legion, in my experience the single action trigger of the Langdon puts it to shame! For what it is worth I would suggest the LTT Elite. Both have all kinds of cool factor but the LTT is a really impressive pistol.

Actually, it's worth quite a lot, thank you. I was leaning towards the LTT, if for no other reason than some sort of P320 X-something will be available longer than an LTT in all likelihood. A seriously good single-action trigger is significant icing on the cake as I can be a bit of a trigger snob. Appreciate the response.

Thanks, could be a while. It will serve as back up only to my main gun. I run a few rounds through it just to see if it's hitting where I like.
