22940Thinnest P226 grips
What have you found to be the thinnest feeling grips for the P226? It doesn't matter if they are factory or not. Doesn't matter about cost either.

22940You know, I never even thought about those.
What about the thinnest "regular" grips?

12131What is "regular" grip?
The next thinnest, or better to refer to as overall slimmest, grip would be the factory plastic "slim" grip and the Hogue Aluminum and G10 grips.

Fire AwayThe old SIG made aluminum grips are the best in my opinion. However, they are rarer than hens teeth since they went out of production a LONG time ago.

By regular, I mean the screw on type.

NipperI have Hogue G10's and the GrayGuns "Intermediate" trigger on my P226 and P229. Both put the trigger finger closer to the trigger face, if that's what your objective is. Solved the problem.

22940Thanks everyone. I have the Hogue G10s right now.
It is fine for me but not my wife. Looks to me like we have a reason to start looking at buying a P229. Hahaha.

teombeHave you considered a short trigger instead?

Blume9mmActually a P229 is your best choice for the simple reason it is another gun.....then to make a suggestion... what your wife would really like is a p239......
The Sig factory grips for the P226 are made for guys with big hands or at least long fingers... for me the E2 is best followed by G10s and I still have to 'reach' some to get my finger placed right on the trigger.

The original SIG aluminum grips look better, have a slightly different profile, feel better than the Hogue aluminum, and yes, they are hen's teeth. Who made them for SIG, no one knows. There are no manufacturer's marking inside the grips, only model number.

mike28wIf this were my wife, I'd try hard to find her a nice 225 or a 239 and then put thin grips on that. I'm skeptical that you will ever be able to make a Sig double stack thin enough. (Just another opinion, of course)

LunaseeMaybe the P365 would fit her better. It's double stack and only 1" wide.

Blume9mmthe OP was asking about the P226 and then wondered about the P229 both of which are DA/SA pistols and so from my perspective and to try and keep both the recommendations as well as his and his wife's guns function as simple as possible I would say stick with that system... Double Action / Single Action.
mike28w has also made this point... it might be better for her to 'downsize' to a single stack DA/SA pistol.

JDGMy P226 Legion has the best feel to it, even better than my P228 with E2s on it. A P239 or P225 would be best if width is an issue. I’m picking up a 225A1 this weekend

Very nice feel to it.
