4521dlnsig cpo pistols
does any one know if the barrels are replaced on sig cpo pistols or is it the original barrel to the firearm ? thanks

12131They may or may not, depending on conditions. On the old German made & proofed guns, you will know for sure, because the original gun's serial numbers are all matching. But, on the US made guns, it's a crap shoot.

fullmannBased on how all the rest of the gun looks on every CPO I’ve purchased, I’d almost say they are most likely original to that gun.
All of mine have been indistinguishable from new

Jimbo54I've got 2 CPOs and would swear they were new on first inspection.

Oat_Action_ManMy only CPO was essentially a new gun as well.

bnz42I had one CPO P228 with original serial-numbered barrel, and another P228 with a replacement, no serial number barrel. Both came in red boxes.

cslingerAs long as the barrel is in good shape I see no reason to worry about it either way. Takes a fair bit of pistol shooting to shoot out a barrel.

wingsparMy CPO P220 has no serial number on the barrel. I’ve had it for years. Came in a red box looking new but the barrel did have wear marks on it. Has the Exeter-NH-USA mark on the slide.

monoblokWe received two CPO P229-1s recently; one of them look flawless when sold even though it was the one that was put into our display case (it did receive a fair bit of handling in the week or so that it was on the floor). Its barrel finish however reminded me of the newer finish that SIG currently uses, which does a much better job against showing wear marks. So it might be possible that this barrel had been replaced, but that would likely depend on when this gun was actually made with no s/n markings on the barrel to confirm originality.
The second SIG (that went into back stock) had faint smileys on its barrel, and a couple of pin head sized bare metal marks in the frame's anodizing.

DaBigBRCPO guns likely come from a variety of sources, including guns that go to armorer schools and sales samples. Many of these will be unfired.

ArtieSThe blacking on my CPO barrel was well worn, so I know it was not new.
