"U", not "UU".
It should be a 1998 German made and proofed P226. Not West German. 1995 would have been the very last year that any SIGs had the "Made In W. Germany" on the slide.

it is indeed stamped "UU 600 XXX". Sigfreund replied on another thread, "The UU prefix indicates the frame was made in the United States. I have a P226 with UU637xxx serial number that I purchased new as an NYPD contract overrun in March 2010."
Should this information be included in this List?

Marked "Made in Germany" on slide, and "Frame made in Germany" on frame.
I bought this weapon to a retired police of my country (Chile).... Do not rely on any word side Germany but if an eagle and just below the letter N (W. Germany) nex to a crushed bug (Ulm).

Picked up a Browning BDA .45 at the gunshow yesterday:
I purchased my P220ST in May 2005. I do not know the Date of Mfg. The Number is G3344xx. It came in a blue clam shell Sigarms box. The manual was printed in 2001.
When I bought it, I upgraded the mags to get three of the SS versions, which I laser marked with the serial number.
Since then, it wears the Houge Extreme black Aluminum checkered grips.

I just picked up a 7.65 P230 today from a GB auction. Date stamp is KH (1997, which is normal), but the slide is stamped "W.Germany". Perhaps they had spare slides from the 1980's sitting around?

I must slap my hands due to my error of calling my West German a P220, 9mm, when in bare fact it is a Browning BDA, 9MM with a birth date in 1977. Thank you SIG for persistence in entering the handgun market into the U S via a well known and respected Browning Company.
