I'm sure there are others, but it is the first I've seen. I think you have the identity correct.

Saw a P220 today in a LGS.

Anyone have a clue how old? Guessing between '77 & '81 but would like to narrow it down.

It had one of those funky Euro mag releases on the bottom of the mag.

That's one of the pistols from "the gap". Please check it over for any import marks.

My P220 was also a Pawn rescue and is a 1999. I love it, its accurate feels good and the hand and shoots like nobodys business. Enjoy man you got a hell of a gun.

My 228 is B 114 0XX. German proofs with KA date code. I purchased it as a CPO, so I don't know anything about its history. There are no police markings though.

After two years of searching, I finally found a very nice condition 228 with a little holster wear that has had very few rounds fired through it. Triple serial matching. To say the least I am very happy.

serial is B250-9XX-KF 1995
