1. RMR is the standard right? For ruggedness, battery life also? Comparable the the Aimpoint T series as far as its place in the RDS world? The RMR is fine but I strongly prefer a closed emitter. People freak out about the size but it really is just a similar sized optic with a roof, if you will. I do not notice it while carrying IWB and I've been doing that for a while. For my money I really like the 509T MRS or the PA ACSS version which has the same great durability but lets you just wipe it off with your thumb. Having performed environmental tests in training I am a strong believer in enclosed even for something under a shirt. If holosun could get the EPS carry to market in quantity I am looking to get one of those up and running. Yes I wish it was made in a different country or I wish the other makers offered reticles and fully enclosed their optics. When it happens I'll reassess. 2. Are the internet posts about the DPP being somewhat fragile true or just repeated old news? In the above testing I've seen the battery door fail and eject the battery under recoil. Nothing weird was happening to the gun just normal shooting. It also did not drain as well as an RMR. I would not run one unless it was a gift, and not on my carry gun. I don't recommend it, for the money, get a RMR, holosun, P2 or I've heard reasonable things about the Steiner. Someone else will invariably have an alternate opinion. 3. Which do you have and are you happy with it? I have primarily Holosuns however I have time on most of the offerings from vortex(crap), Leupold(I wouldn't), RMR (good option), Aimpoint (Prefer P2 for battery reasons), and Holosun, I run Holosuns but I'm always open to new and evolving tech and would like everyone else to step their game up.

When you talk left and right, by how far, and most importantly, does it even matter? If you can center a group on a B8 black (5.25") at 25 yards or make them all touch a 1" paster at 10 yards, you've got everything you need. Even a little bigger and the odds are that you are fine. Everybody tries to turn their pistol into a sniper rifle when they put an optic on it.
