I should not be allowed in a LGS without an adult.

I had no good reason to buy this...okay my reason was I have had a couple of 3.5" M27s and a 4" M28 in the past and stupidly sold them.

I have been browsing a couple websites like Colector's Firearms and the prices of M27s have gotten crazy and even M28s are sommetimes breaking the $1K mark.

This one is a very very clean -2 P&R'ed version.

Price was $850....which I thought was not as nuts but still a little nuts until I thought about it. My last M28 was a nicely worn model that I bought for $350.....20 years ago Eek ...yes I am getting old.

Had and sold several over the years.
They have gotten pricey.
Hard to believe this was state of the art weaponry for cops in the early/mid 70's.

The Target grips are too big for me....with a T adapter these smaller grips, coke bottle?, are perfect.

I’ve got one just like that. It’s on my “never sell” list. It Isn’t the newest, coolest, lightest, highest capacity blaster out there, but it is accurate, pleasant to shoot with any load I can fit in the cylinder, and gives every impression of being nigh indestructible. I love the thing and wish I could find a 27 in 3 inch to go with it.

Beautiful. Wasn’t that long ago that people couldn’t give those things away. $850 is NUTS. But I wouldn’t sell mine for that. Smile

by the way those style grips are known as the Magnas or sometimes “football” grips. I like them as well. I’ve recently changed to the softer Pachmayr combat type and they feel a lot better when shooting. They don’t look as good though.

Magnas are what are on the gun now. "Football" refers to target grips with an extractor relief cut at the top of the left panel.

Nice. I owned a M28 6" back in the Seventies. Everybody looked down their noses at them, as opposed to the M27.

One helluva shooter though. I used it for hunting woodchucks. With 125gr .357 Mags I could consistently hit them at around 50 yards.

The trophy whitetail buck on my office wall was shot by me with a 28-2. Memories.

I just picked up 28-3 and I’m really looking forward to shooting it. The gun came with the cleaning rod, screw driver, and manual. The guy was nice enough To throw in a box of 357, holster and a 12 gauge single shot(which was sold) to offset the cost to a whopping $337.

Wow, that seems high for a 28.

I gave $900 locally for a pre-27 6 1/2" last year near mint.....

But congrats on your addition!

Have yet to find a 27 (or better yet a Registered Magnum!) I can afford. I have to make do with my very humble 28. It’s rough around the edges, but a great shooter!
