usncorpsmanRange testing my newly cut CZ’s and Walther PDP SF…..dinner pic’s after.
Today was a beautiful day here in sunny Florida. I worked last night, but was itching to test these guns with a new hand load, so after sleeping for a few hours, I headed out to the range.
The new load is a 125gr JHP from Zero Bullets loaded with 4gr Titegroup and a CCI SPP. I also did the same load but used a WSPM primer to see if the POI or accuracy changed. I started out with the S2 and shot 5 of each load. I did the same with the 75 D Compact and the Walther. As you can see from the pics, this load did very well in the accuracy department. I did adjust each gun to hit center with this new load prior to leaving the range
The compact shot the tightest group using the WSPM primer. I have fallen in love with this gun, so much that I have a TLR7X coming tomorrow and will be making it my bedside/ travel gun. I installed the thin blue grips yesterday which made a huge difference in allowing me to reach the trigger better. After accuracy testing I fired the 75D from 7-25yds and made well centered hits with ease.
The Walther is a beast. If you miss, it is your fault. I think it is a better shooter than the S2, but the S2 is a softer shooter. All in all, a great day.
And fresh from the grill…

valkyrie1I bought a 5 inch and 4 inch PDPs and installed their Walther Precision triggers and Sprinco trigger springs. I would not carry with the Sprinco springs but what fantastic triggers they are now. Smooth take up, nice wall, great reset. I’m really liking the PDPs

Scooter123Dead Presidents at 15 yards is damned fine shooting. There was a time when I could do the same with my P229 Elite Stainless but I got bored shooting paper targets and now shoot 108mm orange disks moving between 35 and 80 mph with shotguns. Handgun shooting for me today is a matter of shooting enough to be effective. BTW, when you get a center hit on one of those targets and see smoke using a 410 it's a big thrill.

kaschiNice selection of pistols. The Walther Q4 SF as shown in your pic has been on my radar for a some time but it's my understanding that it has unfortunately been discontinued. It seems to have been replaced with the "PDP SF", of which there are a Compact, Full Size and a third variation, (the name of which escapes me at the moment), but is a duty/competition sized gun.
Walther claims to be expanding their SF line, so it's hard to tell what they are planning to come up with next. Last week I emailed them asking if the slide/3.5" bbl from the PDP F would fit on the PDP SF Compact frame. The reply was "NO" just in case anyone is wondering. That would be a really sweet set up IMO.

I love shooting clays and do well with my 20g O/U. I miss more than I hit with my .410 O/U but it is still fun.

It is a CZ Shadow 2 that I sent out to have direct milled for a red dot.

.
That Q4 SF is a phenomenal gun and highly underrated. I had a SP01 Tactical with a red dot that I purchased from a guy for $800. My buddy had the Q4 and liked the CZ better. We did an even trade. Those Q4’s were selling for over $1500 at the time, so I was way ahead in that trade. He had even installed the dynamic trigger in it which added another $150. I’ll never sell it. The gun is that good. No striker fired guns trigger is better.

kaschiIt looks outstanding up close, especially with that trigger and those flat back grips. The Q4 SF has QUALITÄT written all over it.
