^ Likewise. I've always wanted a P227. Our state police are retiring theirs this year...I'm hoping that drops some onto the used market for reasonable prices, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

ISP are rare as hen's teeth around here, haven't seen one in years. They're carrying P-227's? I've never seen a 227 in real life, but I miss having a 45ACP caliber gun. My old Kimber Pro-Carry wasn't very accurate compared to my previous Colt Mk4/Series 70 so if any 227's showed up locally for me to examine, I'd be interested. -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18

Trooper buddy told me P320s in 9mm with an optic (probably Romeo X would be my guess) and from what he described the TXG grip module. The heavier TXG grip seemed like an odd choice to me, and he's not really a firearms guy so there may have been miscommunication there, but from what he described I can't imagine what else it could be.

Ah, Conservation officers carry P320s with Sig optics. Thanks. Sorry for the derail. I don’t carry my old issued P220 anymore. Although, it rode on my side for 12 years of my patrol career. It is retired to bedside duty now. I’ll never get rid of it. It will go to my son when I’m no longer on this side.

My dad left me his pristine P220 he bought from the agency he retired from. It's an older West German model with the sharp spur hammer and man.... I love it. The feel of the slim angled grip is simply amazing. If the Browning Hi-Power had ever been made into a regular production .45 ACP, I've no doubt it would feel EXACTLY like an early P220. I still think those are fantastic carry guns, in fact they're probably a better daily carry than the P227. However, I'd still probably carry the P227 over it for the extra few rounds and the fact I have 35+ years behind a P226, and the P227 feels exactly like it. It's a tragically underrated pistol.... ________________________________________ "Just A Wild Eyed Texan On a Manhunt For The World's Most Perfect Chili Dog...."

Yeah, DNR has P320s with the Romeo 1 Pro, same as us. I'd be shocked if ISP didn't get the latest and greatest Romeo X enclosed, though. I've never carried a .45 on duty, but I did carry a P245 and a P220 compact on my own time until a little over a year ago when I got my 9mm P229 SAS. I actually had that P220 out a couple of weeks ago just because I felt like sending some big 230gr pills downrange.

I just left the range with my P227 SAS Carry. I shot about 500 rounds and the gun ran flawlessly. I had zero problems with any of the mags as well including the 14 rounders. It shoots well and the recoil is not bad for a 45. All hits were COM and heads shots. It's a nice little gun almost the same size as my 239 with the exception of the magwell which is obviously going to be bigger because it's a double stack pistol. But the length and the width are pretty much the same size on both guns. It's definitely concealable and once the holster I ordered for it from High Noon Holsters arrives I will be using it for EDC. The only thing I will be changing is the sights and I would like to get rid of the E2 grip and order some G10's. The problem I'm having with that is Hogue doesn't offer G10's on their website so it looks I will have to be scrounging around to try and locate a set. I also am told that I need some kind of bushing to install them as there are no threaded holes in the frame for screws. I'm not sure if they are even available but the search begins. So if you are looking for a DA/SA compact, concealable 45, I think you would be happy with this pistol.

I thought they still did, I found this on their website: https://www.hogueinc.com/grips...p227-da-sa/g10-grips ________________________________________ "Just A Wild Eyed Texan On a Manhunt For The World's Most Perfect Chili Dog...."

I’ll have to call them and see if any of those will fit the 227 Carry.

Please update us on what they say, but I was pretty sure the P227 Carry and the SAS both used the standard size P227 frame, the only changes were in the slide itself, or in the SAS version, the lack of a rail. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure they use the same grips. ________________________________________ "Just A Wild Eyed Texan On a Manhunt For The World's Most Perfect Chili Dog...."

That's what I thought. I remember some guys here complaining about the 227 only having two additional rounds than a 220 so when I saw the CDNN ad about the 14 round mags I just assumed that Mec Gar had done what they did with the 226 mags which was to create a new follower which allowed 18 rounds in a flush fitting mag. I was a little surprised to see how long the mags were compared to the 10 round mags. So now I'm question if the full size 227 frame is different than the 227 Carry frame. In any event I will find out.
