I received a product notification from midway USA that the SIG MPX K was in stock for $2000. I was shopping in Home Depot and stopped what I was doing, logged into my account, and purchase one. It should come early next week which is exciting. One was available from Grab-A-Gun for $1775 in May but I hesitated and it vanished, and then again in August for $1900 but I hesitated and and it vanished. Now I am happy I ordered one since it went out of stock shortly after I ordered. I am thinking about getting a Holosun 507c Red Dot optic but need some suggestions for sights that could co witness with the red dot. Any suggestions? Currently, the 507C Ver 2 is available but within a month or 2 the newer X2 model will be out. It would be my 1st Holosun red dot but not my 1st red dot. Is it worth waiting for the latest version of this red dot? Thank you and have a great day. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Democracy is 2 Wolves & a Lamb debating the lunch menu. MPX-K doesn't come with sights so you can just use any AR irons and a red dot on a standard AR height riser. You have have issues with zeroing the sights though, people have run out of travel on the front post and still shoot low, but filing down the front sight post can solve that. I would just get an AR-height red dot in an Aimpoint Micro form factor. There area ton of options out there. I am using a Sig Romeo 5 XDR because of the circle dot reticle and AAA battery. Eventually I'll probably put something better on it (Aimpoint or Trijicon). Troy micro sights are lower and might be useful on the slightly higher top rail height of the MPX (sorta like how the HK 416 uses reduced height sights and mounts because the piston system increases the overall height of the receiver a bit). Not sure how a standard height AR optic will work with the micros - might be lower 1/3 which would be ideal.

I would get any standard Aimpoint Micro T1/T2/H1/H2 size red dot and standard height AR riser. I would not go with an open sight like an RMR. Definitely not a CompM3, CompM4, or Pro size optic. An Aipoint Acro might work and fit the PDW form factor a little better but I've heard about zeroing issues since they were intended for slide mounting on pistols. That might be with rifle ammo though, can't remember exactly.

And that goes in the HUH? category. exactly why would you say that? can't think of a single reason. I've run Micro's, Pro's, Comps, ACRO's, MRO's and RMR's on these MPX's and a zillion other similar guns (just to name a few MP5, B&T APC, PTR, LWRC, cmmg, colt) and its just not an issue which one you run. Sure you have to deal with what height is the best between the gun, its rail and you holding it, but that's no different between those that love 1/3 versus absolute on an AR. Now myself if its serious I run an aimpoint. that's just makes common sense. and the mount matters for some of these given where the charging handle is, but that's not an MPX issue. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

I think "definitely" is a bit strong; you can use pretty much any size red dot and it will function fine. Hell I've put a TA31 on my MPX and it actually worked okay (I had my doubts beforehand, considering that that ACOG is a 4x power). The physical size of those Aimpoints you list may not be ideal for such a relatively "small" sub-gun but my Pro also resided on the same MPX for a couple of months and functionally it was just as capable as the T-1 Micro that normally resides on its rail. -MG
