Consider, the source, but the Military Arms Channel guys on Youtube had no issue with their P365 .380 feeding from 12 and 15 round 9mm magazines. 2011s generally feed fine from a magazine that is intended for .45.

I watched the MAC review of the SIG 365, .380. I like the MAC and while I agree that there should not be any breaking in period for firearms, it is a fact for for many firearms. It does not surprise me that "Tim" had some malfunctions during the first 100 rounds. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Democracy is 2 Wolves & a Lamb debating the lunch menu. Here’s a quick report on first range session with my P365 380. Didn’t have a lot of time but gave it a good workout after picking it up from my transfer FFL. Two days earlier I drove out to Osage and picked up (2) 12-rnd magazines. The box included (2) 10-rnd magazines soI had (4) total. I went straight to the range and unboxed the pistol, no cleaning or lube whatsoever. In total I shot 156 rounds of varied practice and defense ammo: 50 rounds Speer Lawman 95 FMJ 50 rounds Remington 95 FMJ 20 rounds Federal HST 99 JHP 10 rounds Underwood 90 XTP 6 rounds Underwood Extreme Defender 68 (Lehigh) 20 rounds Hornady FTX Critical Defense I’m happy to report that the P365 380 ran everything without a single malfunction. I even mixed ammo in some magazines. I was shooting unsupported at 21 feet. The pistol shot to POA. I had a few flyers but for the most part my groups were running 2-3 inches which is really good for me. Where this pistol really shines is shooting fast. The pistol is very easy to control, recoil is mild, and it literally begs to be run fast. That was not true of my Ruger LCP Max or Beretta 70s. I was really pleased. I made the right decision to get the Sig and sell Ruger. I kept the Beretta cause I collect them. I also have a Sig P232 but it’s big for caliber and holds only 7 rounds. MAP on the new gal appears to be $499. That's the best I saw posted on GB, and at my two most competitive LGS here in town. Cleary, it feels a tad bit lighter. However, the proof is in the easier recoil spring resistance in cycling the slide. I am thinking this little gal will kick the G42 outta my pocket.

Poppy, how did it feel shooting those HSTs? In my Glock 42, everything I've shot is pleasant--except the HSTs. Like mildly painful. Gold Dots were perfectly fine, but the HSTs were unpleasant. How did the 365 fare with that HST load? ---------------------------- Chuck Norris put the laughter in "manslaughter" Educating the youth of America, one declension at a time.

I have a range trip planned for this week (possibly Tuesday) to a spot with rental arms. Will try this newbie out if they have one available. ETA: no 380 P365 at the LGS/range today (3/30). I had to quickly leave, the CZ Scorpion PCC in stock was calling me by name! This message has been edited. Last edited by: rat2306,

Felt recoil is an individual thing. Yes, the HST’s were a little hotter but not in any meaningful way. By that I mean it wasn’t unpleasant and did not effect ability to run fast with good accuracy. For carry, I alternate HST and the Underwood in first mag and second mag is all Hornady CD. Sigs, HKs, S&Ws, Rugers, Wilsons, Nighthawks, Colts

Picked one up to mess with. The optic cut does not allow the optic to sit low enough to use the irons, as on the 365 X and XL. Sights would need to be changed to something taller. Sig just always seems to miss things like this for whatever reason. The sights a 8 front 6 rear which is odd too.

Now that's a combo I've never seen nor heard of before on a Sig.

Slide is a bit shorter than a standard 365 slide (to reduce weight I assume) and the profile of the top is a little different as well. Factory Sig suppressor sights are not graded by height but should be close to the typical 6/8 or 8/8. Putting them on an 8/6 slide would probably not work very well. I checked a couple others at other stores and they all seem to be 8/6. The receiver seems to be same as all other P365's and a manual safety I had laying around fits fine and works. A top end conversion and new magazines would be a nice option from Sig, but it would probably be within $100 of a whole gun if you include two mags. This message has been edited. Picked up a P365 .380 slide from the classifieds and swapped out my existing 9mm slide. It's a really nice shooter in .380. Also placed a Holoson 507k on it and the reduced recoil makes getting back on target completely effortless. I was able to make a quarter sized hole with a single 10 round magazine at 7 yards with a brisk pace between shots. Unfortunately 10 round magazines are no where to be found, but I was able to load .380 ammo into my 9mm mags. At first I had a few stove pipes, but after the first magazine it functioned just fine for the rest of the range session. Going to add this guy into my CCW rotation for sure.

Well, that answers one burning question. Thanks for the report. ► 6.4/93.6 “Most men … can seldom accept the simplest and most obvious truth if it … would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions … which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabrics of their lives.” — Leo Tolstoy

Forgot to mention, I also used the P365 Wilson Combat grip...what a significant improvement to the standard grip.

After shooting a friend's P365 380 at the range, I liked it so much I purchased one on Friday, gave it a thorough cleaning/lube, loaded the mags to capacity, let it sit for 2 days so the mags would begin to take a set, and took it to the range on Monday. No issues whatsoever! My range and EDC ammo functioned flawlessly. A fun little pistol and definitely a keeper! Will likely add a Romeo X Compact optic after break in.

After a recent bout with an ornery bulging lower disc I decided that I wanted another go at a pocket friendly carry option just in case, one that's not a revolver or some goofy derringer. Highly desirable to have 10 rounds of capacity at the very least; no need for me to dumb it down even more than the vile State of WA already has. The smallest 9mm I own is the standard P365; slightly too big for the role. Plus it has that trigger bow, the one without some built-in lock-up. In a soft nylon holster in a jeans pocket? Yeah, no. So I sadly settle in on .380 (yuck) over 9mm. Despite me being a "Glock guy" their G42 is out; a victim of its sucky factory mag capacity. Just like it was with the more powerful G43 when I carried that for a while. No aftermarket Shield Arms option so yeah, fork stuck in it. And though I debated on its merits more than I should of, the P365/380 by deduction was ultimately out, because its trigger bow is just like the bow on the 365/9mm. So the same question posed again: a soft nylon pocket holster with that trigger? Um, no thanks; I truly do appreciate maximizing the odds that my right side lower bodily bits (femoral artery and foot) remain intact, please. SO that left me with the LCP Max, which I shot a few weeks back for the first time. I didn't find it all that bad on recoil. The trigger action could be better but the reset isn't horribly long and more importantly it has some sort of activation safety built into it trigger bow. An unintended partial snag of this trigger in its soft nylon holster is considerably less likely to cause a dreaded unintended discharge. That in a nutshell wound up being the key deal-maker criteria most for me, and the lil' Ruger was the only .380 that accomplished that with 10+1 hole makers available. Plus it's purple. Go Dawgs. -MG
