Leaning toward the RMR, which I already was, but this has also sent me a bit down the 509T rabbit hole. Price of the RMR and 509T are pretty close and the 509T has some features that interest me.

Two major questions hold me back from the Holosun in this particular case: the Holosun needs an adaptor for an RMR plate, right? Can I get that for the Staccato? Second, will the chunky 509T fit in a Safariland ALS? (Will need to see if it would also work with my current Longshadow holster…the Bladetech retention hood makes me doubt the chunky optic will fit, but I’ll call and confirm.)

There is a plate to put a 509T on a Staccato and it will fit in your holster.

Normally I'm a fan of C&H for plates, but I don't think their 509T plate makes a lot of sense with a single screw holding the plate down.

I believe Hilton Yam (10-8 Performance) and Dan Smith (Centrifuge Training - danno1812 on Instagram) have posted content documenting the holster compatibility.

If you happen to decide you need a 509T, feel free to email me for a lead on SF pricing.

I have a DPP, and find the intensity buttons very easy to operate. Not sure why people complain. It is great for a range gun, and would be for some rifles.

For my CCW size pistols I went with Holosun. Some pistols sit in a safe for years with rarely being used, and I like not having to re-zero when changing the battery. If you use the pistol often, re-zeroing is not an issue.

I have a DPP on my Walther PDP which is also a carry gun. I like it. Admittedly, I have no experience with the RMR though in my opinion when I was looking to purchase a red dot, the RMR seemed to be priced too high compared to the DPP. I am pleased with my choice.

The 509T works in all of my rds safariland holsters as long as it is the correct model for the gun. YMMV but that is my experience.

I think I'm going to go with the 509T in this case. Got confirmation that it'll work with my current holster, so I don't need to drop the change right now on switching into the Safariland ecosystem just to run the optic.

Will pick up an RMR for a 320 that's upcoming and can easily switch it to the Staccato if I should want to.

Thanks everyone.
