| You might want to get in touch with Ken. You probably have one of their grips that is just a little out of specs. I bought one of their G10 grips for the heel release P220 that I bought from hjs157 a couple of years ago, and it fit perfectly.

Yeah I haven't taken them off or really spent too much time with it yet, but maybe today when I get home I'll pop it open and take the grips off. Even if they fit right I still don't really like the look of them so I'll probably try to find a set up G10's or something for it if they are available. To be honest I'm not even 100% sure they are hogue wood grips that's just what the guy told me. To me it doesn't seem like a product hogue would put out, but I could be wrong. |

My other Sig is a Steyr.
| There were some wood (walnut?) grips that were available in the early '80s for the P220. I don't know if they were a factory offering, but they are somewhat common for the era. I've had the best luck with the Hogue checkered aluminum grips (21170) as they are on all of my range Sigs and some that just came with bad (or no) grips. I'm not sure if they are still in production, but they are dimensionally similar to the Hogue G-10 grips with the feel of aluminum. The grips on the P220 are not caliber specific. Seems like most only know the P220 as a .45 Auto.

| No knowing what grips you have without a photo. I inquired here on the forum and was informed my factory Sig wood grips were made by Marinno in Switzerland, might not be the correct spelling. Also saw a set of the Swiss walnut P-220 heal release grips on Ebay a while back. Just me I prefer on older Sigs to have original factory parts/accessories. |

If it doesn't say Hogue on the inside, it's not Hogue. I no longer own the P220, but here are a couple of pics of it with the Hogue G10 Checkered Black grips on. They are great looking and feeling grips. They have them in stock currently, https://www.hogueinc.com/grips...-checkered-g10-black.

| They won't plate (CPII or Nickel) alloy frames, because it would require stripping off the anodization, which they will not do. Your frame option for a look that closely matches the CPII would be their Nikote.

| I have one of these 9mm P220 Euro pistols with the heel release. It's a cool gun and reminds me of my first 1911. Original grips, if you can find them, could be around $300. I went with checkered Hogue 21179, Very nice. Mags are a little challenging to find. I went with new ones from these guys: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/990197668 |
