When I saw LAV's initial post FB, my first thought was he was drunk when he posted it. I honestly expected way more from of a man of his stature.
It came across as insanely petty and very much shoot, ready, aim.
Instead of calling Bill and asking "WTF?!" he gets on FB and blasts away.
It just oozed narcissism.

And it wasn't like WC issued a press release and told the world. I doubt anyone would have known this went down if he hadn't said anything.
Sure, should Bill have called Larry and said "Hey, heads up - nothing personal." - Sure!
(Assuming Bill even knew beforehand. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if WC's Legal Dept. sent the letter and Bill didn't know about it until the post.)

What's interesting is that LAV later edited the post to pull out all WC reference, but the horse was already out of the barn.
But LAV should have known better. I mean, what did he think would happen?!
If he really thought a $30 million company would risk it all to stand behind him after what he did, he's delusional.

Like others, I thought very, very highly of the ole Master Sergeant.
But he knew what he was doing and got caught. Disappointing to say the least.
However, his little FB stunt caused me to lose a lot of respect for him.

Funny part is, almost a month later, Vicker's stuff is still on WC's website:

He plead guilty to significant felonies directly involving the firearms industry. Wilson did the only thing they could do.

I lost a tremendous amount of respect for Vickers over this whole debacle.

So, does anyone have a CQB Commander with light rail? I’m thinking about ordering on in stainless.

No, just different. Although the Bob Marvel Nighthawk might be the best Commander 1911 on the market with having the same slide travel as a Government model.

Im trying to find what exactly Vickers did to help the 2A community. I have yet to find anything, only thing I found was him screwing over people and getting himself charged as a felon.

Larry may be a decorated veteran, and the ATF may suck donkey d*ck, but he knew what he was doing and he knew roughly what the consequences would be if he got caught. Wilson was right to cut ties, because as others have noted, a firearms company can’t have a felon be a face of the company.

FAFO goes both ways. Even if we disagree with the law and the .gov, given how they both sit, Vickers’ complaining here is like playing with fire and then crying about it when you get burned. Sucks, but thems the facts of life. Until the NFA is repealed and the ATF dissolved, people will have to tread carefully when operating outside the established laws, and should accept responsibility for the consequences if/when they get caught. If you wanna play big boy games, you have to act like a big boy when the House wins.

Not a commander, but, I bought a CQB Elite at the end of Sept. Absolutely fantastic weapon. The Vickers thing didn't even enter my mind once I picked it up.

I’ve got a CQB with light rail that I had built about 18 years ago and it’s easily one of my favorite firearms. It’s an absolute joy to shoot and 100% reliable. It appears that I can expect the same level of satisfaction from a newly created pistol. I just wish there were more Commanders with light rails out in the wild for me to take a look at.

It should be a little bit better. The newer ones are a little tighter and have all bar stock components.
