Another masterpiece from SIG DE Mastershop - The P226 X-Six Midnight - **Update w/ range report, p.2**
Brought to you by the fine MMBI folks.

Announced in the 2020 German catalog as a completely new offering, it was not certain if any of them were actually made, as SIG SAUER DE announced about mid-year that they were closing shop at the end of the year. Luckily for us fans, they managed to produce both the X-Six and X-Five, but in extremely limited number. According to the letter by their Head of Sales Hendrik Giessler, only 7 X-Sixes and 3 X-Fives were made.

Similar to their P210 Midnight brethren that were introduced in 2019, the Midnight Xguns were given the beautiful hand polished black DLC coating throughout (included internal surface), accented by the gold plated trigger, hammer, grip screws. Interestingly, the +2 magazine bases are also plated. I do appreciate that the bling factor is minimal compared to some other Xguns. The trigger pull is superb, breaking like glass with zero perceptible slip/creep, and I set it at the lowest possible weight of 2 lbs 3 oz. That is half a pound heavier than the CZ TS2 trigger at 1 lb 11 oz, although the TS2 shows a definite slip before the sear breaks. The proof date code is stamped near the muzzle end of the barrel itself, instead of the usual barrel hood location. The target grips are slightly bulky. I will probably put in the smaller Hogue G10 grips later for range testing. Note the test firing was also done by Mr. Giessler.

Artistry in metal! It truly is a masterpiece, and a real shame that the Mastershop closed.

That is a beautiful shootin iron right there. The P226 never had it so good and same could be said for the little 9mm round. See the front sight? My eyes could. Cant help but notice the barrels muzzle end is stepped up in diameter about .01. Very nice X gun Q.

Between this and the fancy Walther SF's, I never knew Germans were so "pimp" with their guns.

Thanks for sharing this Masterpiece. That’s 48 ounces of lustrous licorice colored stainless steel. Automotive manufacturers create supercars to draw attention to their more pedestrian cars. In the same fashion Sig Sauer pistols sharing similar designs benefit by association.

While I can admire the craftsmanship, the large size is a put off on Sig's P226 Mastershop guns. If they made a standard size P226 that looked like this one, then its beauty would increase a thousand-fold to me.

Sorry, I didn't know posting that would get it locked.

My bad.

^^^^ Providing a link to an active auction is severely frowned upon and a good way to get this thread locked, regardless of intentions.

It's an elegant pistol, Q. When you shoot it, please do a comparison to a "regular" P226 X-6.
