There is no way this will sell in today’s U.S. market. Maybe it’s a $199 pistol and if they sell a couple dozen they break even but my magic eight ball says “absolutely not are you out of your mind”

How is this better than a P226/P229, especially at those prices??
Again my concerns with these type pistols beyond reliability, durability, accuracy, safety, and such would be cost and availability of magazines, warranty support, general customer support including shipping costs, immediate and long term availability of parts and from where, and third party support for holsters/sites/grips/etc.
"For over two years, TCH Arms worked together with the engineering team of TRB in order to design a pistol specifically for the US customer. The US company also conducted a battery of tests, including a 12,000 firing sequence, mud and sand tests. A lot of work was done to ensure the longevity and durability of the pistol and improve the ergonomics."
Sounds like the importer put a lot of time and money into this gun. Maybe they're trying to recoup their investment?

I kept looking for the author to say something like "the Vampir has sold like hotcakes to European IPSC shooters, and that's why they think it'll sell for $1,450 in the U.S." Unfortunately, no explanation for the price popped up.
Oh, well, at least we learned that the pistol is decocked by pushing the slide lock lever up.
Ordinarily I'd be mightily interested in this thing, if only because of the Balkans/Yugoslavia connection and the fact that its supposed to be the improved version of a pistol designed to beat the Zastava CZ99. If nothing else it'd be kind of fun to shoot against the CZ999. But sadly, as with the Polish FB Radom VIS-100, I'm priced RTFO of the market. Isn't Eastern Europe supposed to be the place where reasonably good metal workers work fairly cheaply?
Another thing that doesn't seem quite right is the history of the factory. This isn't the product of an existing firearms factory (per the article). It's produced in a privatized firearms repair facility so it's basically a product starting from scratch. If WBP up in Poland is any guide, it would be as well to wait a couple of years just to make sure all of the bugs are worked out of production.
At least the magazines are Mec Gar, I guess.
