The first part of 2020 Beretta brought a batch of model 84,85 and 87s they were in effect higher than the basic model 92 series and this is because they do retail higher and you can look at Berettas Italian website and see this. Most dealers were selling for higher than retail but there was one dealer selling for a lot less than retail and I was fortunate to get 2 of each on all the models. I plan to shoot one of the Model 87s 22 caliber but plan to collect the rest. I was able to get one Model 81 which is caliber 7.65 , 32 ACP and rare in the USA.

Did you mean Model 81 or 82? Those are the the .32ACPs. The Model 84 is a double stack .380ACP.

I really like these pistols. I have the 81 in .32ACP and a couple of 84 and 85s. I am not a .22 fan so no 87. My favorite was the 86 with the tip up barrel. I bought one LNIB years ago and then foolishly sold it. I tried requiring one last year but the prices are just too high for my liking. The 84s and 85s were being sold as trade ins last year. I bought a couple that were shooter grade. The other ones I have are LNIB.

I hope so. They are the only .380 guns I’m interested in.

I tried to get a new production gun from overseas via various US based brokers, but none of those guys I talked to could get one. I eventually found one fine specimen on one of the gun broker websites, but the price reflected the situation everyone else apparently wanting that gun found themselves in like me. It was out of my price range.

Just curious what the draw is to the .380? I've shot a few of them an recoil differences between that and 9mm isn't it so I'm just curious.

I have an 84 and 85, an new production 81 and 2 of the recent .32 BB imports, a new production 87 in .22 and an early 92 from an early Italian police import group. Also have the .32 Tomcat and .25 Jetfire and 2 .22 bobcats.

I really want to add an 86 tip-up .380. These pistols are classics, fun to shoot and I also use to train family and friends. Berettas are pretty cool. I do shoot my .32s and .22s way more than the .380s. My only other .380s are a P238 and P232 stainless.

If you can get an 86 I’d highly recommend it. I know they’re rare and pricey but they’re so neat. I got lucky a few years ago and a guy traded me one straight up for a S&W 5906. There were a few surface blemishes so I had CCR work a little magic on it. I think I’m into it about $600.

Photoman, love your pics and no way can I do justice to these firearms like you do. The 86 will be mine, just have a few others ahead of the queue from the 86 unless a great deal shows up for me. $600 into the 86 is awesome, I have been looking for probably 4 years and think $800 for a beater was the best I saw...more now. Will find one and yours looks awesome. Love the Berettas!

I pictured the 86 in a two-tone configuration as soon as I got my hands on it and CCR really nailed it. For .380s I've got the Beretta 84BB, 85BB, 86, and SIG P230SL. If I could keep only one it would probably be the 86 because it's so unique and the extra weight at the muzzle helps tame the surprisingly snappy recoil of the small round. It's a shame they're so difficult and expensive to obtain. It's also a shame that .380ACP ammo is often expensive and difficult to get now even in good times. I wish the 87 Cheetah in .22LR had a tip-up barrel like the 86. That would be a fun gun.

I'll check out Gunbroker from time to time just to see what some of my rarer items are fetching. I probably wouldn't be able to get an 86 for what they fetch now. The last three that sold went for $1200-1700
