Sig P226
Hello all, has been quite some time since my last activity on the forum.
I have the chance to pick up an all nickel P226 with JK date code 1989 to my understanding. Original grips, one mag, no box or paper work. Serial # starts U391. Slide is marked P226 Made in W. Germany. Sigarms Inc. Herndon VA.
Barrel and guide rod are matching nickel finish as well.
It is used and was definitely not a safe queen. Seller is asking $600.....
Any feedback appreciated !
Thanks all
David

I'd have to see pictures to offer up anything more solid to confirm it is indeed factory nickel, later Robar NP3 (wildly popular back in the day on the Sigs and still likely worth it), or a more recent refinish.

Pics are needed.

Sounds like the nickel version of the same P226 I've had for a long time. May be a good deal if in decent shape.

Does your 226 nickel finished pistol also have a matching finish on the barrel and guide rod? This is what's confusing me about this gun if the finish is indeed nickel. In all my years the barrel and guide rods have always been blued from the factory?? At least my two tone factory P226 & 220's are...

Thank you
David

I’m going to say that has been refinished.

I am leaning in that direction.
I know its hard to pin down in just two pictures but if it is a refinish what is it worth.
Help me out with this one guys I love the older Sigs especially 226's but I don't want to get in over my head on this price wise....
Thanks
David

Based off those two pics, I'm going to say aftermarket refinished at some point, and not Robar either. It's not "warm" enough if that makes sense. It's a great looking gun for sure but, I'm pretty positive that's not factory Sig Nickel of the era. I've got a few early 90s Sigs in nickel or two tone to compare it to and it doesn't line up.

Also, as mentioned up top, the barrel and guide rod should be blue with the factory guns.

It’s definitely a refinish, and it’s most likely hard chrome and not a nickel finish.
