S&W model 36 (no dash), 3” barrel, like new
Just found this at my local dealer as I was walking out the door. Needless to say, I turned around and was late getting home by a few minutes but with a smile on my face.

Called S&W and found out it was made in ‘69 or “70. It looks almost unfired with some very minor handling marks on the bottom of the grip.

This may be just handled with snap caps. Not sure I want to take it to the range.

Tell me again how nice the “modern” plastic guns are Frown.

The square butt makes it more controllable and that extra 1.1 inches (that's right) of barrel helps to boost the velocity a bit. But, it's understandable if you don't want to shoot it.

Very nice

Put a Tyler T-grip on it.

All right. Just ordered the Tyler type grip adaptor (from Tennessee, I have several from him). Guess I better get it to my next visit to the range.

Very nice piece of history that can still function today. The 3" barrel a bonus.

If it were pristine ANIB, I'd say leave it as is, but, life is short, and enjoying shooting a box or two through that revolver isn't going to hurt a thing.

My new to me 3” model 36 will be a nice companion to my 5 shot, 3” model 60-4 (I have S&W “Target” and stock J frame grips for this along with a 9mm cylinder)

My only original/authentic “K” frame Tyler grip adaptor resides on this State Police model 67-1 that once belonged to my MSP Trooper daughter.

My only Tyler J frame grip adaptor is on my old model 38 I retired with. My daughter has that now. (I probably should get that back from her.)

I wonder where she put that grip adaptor?

I picked up a round butt 3” blued a couple years ago, June 1972 production. About a week after a 1959 Chief’s Special also blued came into the store.

As a result there was another two weeks I didn’t keep a paycheck long…!

I keep watching for one of those MSP Model 38’s to come into the shop but no luck yet.
