I've been bit by the Beretta bug. My 92FS Inox has become my second favorite gun to shoot, second only to my modified P210 Standard; definitely nicer than my P229 Legion. Now I'm hunting for older Beretta's because, while, they are sexy guns!

I do find it easy, though, to enjoy both. I even like to through a single action in the mix now and then too.



You do need to add a 92S though...

I had an S a while back, but the import markings on big print on the slide drove me nuts, so I sold it. I'm looking to get a early step-side 92 (bidding on one now) to fill the gap.

Collecting has become a costly rabbit hole; between Sig's, Beretta's & FN's, I keep telling myself (& my wife) they are all investments to pass down or profit in decades to come.

Berettas are beautiful, well-engineered pieces of mechanical art. There's just something about racking the slide on one, or manipulating the controls and feeling them positively snick into position that leaves one feeling confident and in awe of the quality that went into that gun. If I could afford to prioritize those things over raw practicality I'd definitely own a bunch of them.

As it is, my Sigs are just as reliable, have superior ergos for me, and offer better optic mounting options. I don't have the time or money for both so I let most of my Berettas go (except my first 92FS...my kids will get that one some day), but I still love handling and shooting a nice Beretta whenever the opportunity arises.

Dude same. I never jumped on the PX4 Compact train but I came real close. I do have an M9 and a Langdon M9A1 in the safe, so I didn't entirely avoid the Beretta bug. Great handguns and I'm afraid sooner rather than later I'm going to get bitten by their shotguns too.

I remember the first time I shit a Beretta 92. I wasn’t interested but my friend wouldn’t let it go. I’ve always thought they were ugly. After shooting it, my opinion of its appearance didn’t change but good lord that thing is fun to shoot. It’s just so smooth.

Spotted one not so common Beretta in the pics; the Armi Roma Beretta 90. I knew a guy who had one way back. A beauty to behold; back then he was limited pretty much to FMJ with it.

If you get the chance, try one of the LTT Elite 92s. I lucked into one a few years back for a very good price. Ernest Langdon made it as they always should have been.

I've always loved Beretta 92s. My first one was a 92s purchased in the late 1970s. It had the magazine release at the heel of the grip. When IDPA started getting popular, I purchased an Elite II and immediately sent it to Ernest Langdon for a competition action job back around 2001 or 2002. While waiting for the gun to be returned, I ended up buying a couple of Glock 34s and never used the Langdon tuned Elite II in competition. It sat in the safe most of the time. In 2018, I decided to sell it. Ernest ended up buying from me after sitting 16 years in the safe. Believe it or not, he said he didn't have one. Glad it went to a good home. I still own a 92a1 and shoot it from time to time. Like every 92 I've owned, the action is smooth as glass.
