Hello fellow members. I purchased a S&W 686PC 2.5in revolver a while ago. I have tried Altamont and Hogue grips. And no wood offerings from either of them fit. I’m now going to try Culina. Specifically their target grips. Any one here have any experience with Culina target grips? Any feedback would be appreciated. The gun currently is wearing hideously ugly rubber grips.

I am guessing that you mean the grips do not properly fir the frame and not that the grips do not fit your hand.
I have always had good luck with both Altamonte and Hogue. Can you describe the issues? Perhaps post pictures?
Did you contact the companies so that they could make things right for you?
I am a HUGE fan of Hogue wood grips and have them on Many of my firearms. Here are some Smith & Wesson revolver examples
Admittedly these are all N-frames, but the fit is very good.
I have a few Culinas, I usually use them when I want something special like these French Cake Walnut grips on my engraved Model 57
I have a few sets of Culinas on a couple of mu J-frame snubbies, but I do not appear to have photos handy
If you do not like how any grips fit always talk to the manufacturer oin the phone about it
Both companies were good about returns. Neither one of them wanted me to keep grips I was not going to use. The problem was either my hand didn’t fit properly or the fit and finish of the grip was unacceptable. You should have seen some of the grips both companies sold and sent me? It was head scratching. Altamont sent me a pair that were completely mismatched. I have an early 90s S&W 686 snubbie Lew Horton special with the original S&W combat grips. And it fits perfectly and it’s a great shooter. I can’t believe I’m about to spend over $200 for wood grips.
