Hey guys, is anyone thinking of getting metal mag followers or even a metal mag release for their 365? I like metal-to-metal but is it necessary on this weapon? Just inquiring!! Thanks

Egg Zachary. My magnet says it is. I'm not sure I understand the need, I mean, Glock. Plastic followers, plastic mag release, no? __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/

Is this some sort Fudd logic that polymer followers can't be depended on? There are hundreds of thousands of P226/228/229 and Beretta 92 magazines with polymer followers from pre-1994 Ban era that are still in service. There are millions of Glock mags w/ polymer followers that are in service. If you insist on metal followers, you might look into Magguts, and you'll get a capacity increase w/ your metal follower. https://magguts.com/product-category/sig-sauer/p365/

The red follower on the MagGuts is polymer. Their "spring" is metal, of course. Q

I wouldn't think that there would be concerns in concept, other than the gun was conceived around poly followers and I haven't a clue as to the reliability of the metal follower in question. However I'd wonder as to why anyone would want to make the swap and unnecessarily spend money that could be actually useful elsewhere, like for ammo or even another mag or two. Even Bill Wilson uses polymer followers in his 1911 mags, and 1911s are as old-school think as it comes. -MG

There is a lot of snake oil products in any industry and especially so in the firearms game. It is amazing at what some companies make and sell. Some are not bad and can be beneficial but others really have no place. Like others have said, most guns have plastic/polymer followers and they work as they should without causing issues. Personally, I try to keep close to what the manufacturers put in/on their guns,as far as polymer to polymer and steel to steel.

Yep, theres bad stuff that will break your gun but sounds awesome and manly, there's stuff that doesn't do anything, there's stuff that looks cool and at the very tiny tip of the pyramid, stuff that improves it.
