Hello All, I NEVER get range time. Every weekend family stuff takes over, and I have to put it off- again. So, I get some fun new additions to the family, I can dry fire them and work on them, but I can't get to a range to use them and compare. For all you Sig Fans, which would you prefer- and why? Beretta 92 G-SD with Langdon Tactical Trigger job in a bag, vs CZ SP01 with CGW full trigger job? [leave Sig out of it. We are biased. And, I have a Sig P226 with SRT and short reach trigger. As well as a P220 with same setup. I don't want to know how those feel I've shot those!!!! ] I will NOT be carrying these for self defense. I might use one for a nightstand gun- but even that is unlikely. They are 99% likely to be a range-only firearm. So, easy of carry, holster options, weight for all day carry: these are NOT considerations for me. I am a recreational shooter, who enjoys wringing the best accuracy out of any handgun I have. But my eyes are old and the front sight isn't sharp any longer. Do any of you have any real-world experience in shooting these, to compare how they return to target after each shot, or other characteristics based on frame weight, etc? I am limited to 10 rounds here, so capacity differences in magazines don't exist for me. I have noticed the following- but I have NO idea what they feel like when shooting with live ammo. I've only had time to tune and dry fire them. Beretta 92 G-SD LTT job [Langdon trigger bar and Wilson hammer]: LONG DA pull, that seems to stack a hint- but shortest reset of any semi-auto other than a 1911. With Langdon thin grips, I can touch my middle finger to my thumb, and the grip feels good. Love the decocker only. This one has the Brigadier Slide, with frame rail. trigger is relatively light in DA, and nice in SA. A bit more DA resistance than the CZ Duty/Carry setup. CZ SP01 with CGW setup: DA pull feels about 60% of the length of the Beretta, but reset, while short [like- Sig SRT short], is about 2-3 times more motion than the Beretta. It isn't bad, but it clearly has a longer reset. This is the Safety model- but the trigger feels the same on my CZ PCR with CGW Duty/Carry setup. Thin, grip reducing grips. Feels thinner than the Beretta, but safety [CZ Gun Works wide extended- as it is only one that works for my hands] feels more awkward than any other thumb safety I have- except those mounted on Slides. Please share your thoughts in comparing these two models ONLY. Sigs and Non-Sigs: I enjoy having options!

I can't speak to those specific models, but I've owned both a Beretta 92 (with LTT trigger bar and D spring installed) and a CZ-75 Compact. The grip and safety location are better on the CZ, the trigger and action are better on the Beretta. Both are accurate, both are reliable, and both handle recoil very well. However, both tended to get left at home on most range trip days in favor of other things. I sold the CZ, still have the Beretta, but it mostly guards the safe. I carry and shoot my Sigs.

Well, I have a lot of SIGs. But also a trio each of LTT RDO and Cz/CGW. Both are very good. If I had to chose, it would be the Beretta LTT RDO. Simply because a non-tilting barrel expands the horizons and is a more reliable suppressor host.

I’ve had both CZs and Berettas and still have Berettas. The problem for me is the length of pull on the CZ in DA for my smallish hands. It’s just a tad bit too far for me to be comfortable with. I wish it wasn’t the case because the CZ75-based guns are awesome. If your hands fit both well, you can’t go wrong with either. Regards, Waco Learning from my mistakes since 1974...

My initial thought is keep your +/- $1000 and do something more useful with it. My second thought, is that if I had to be limited on ammo and I wanted something large and heavy that I wasn't going to carry anyway, is that I wouldn't spend it on a gun designed to hold 15+ rounds.

I've got a LTT 92G with the trigger job. Its...awesome. The double action is very smooth and surprisingly light. The single action is a glass rod that breaks at a hard wish. The reset? Oh, the reset. If you are a fan of the 92 platform, it's the way to go. If you aren't a fan of the 92 platform, it may well be the one to convert you.

I shoot the Beretta 92X Performance (LTT) and the CZ Shadow 2 Orange and both guns are great. Both are all steel and wonderful at the range. Either is a fine choice. I could not choose so bought both.

PS, the CGW on the CZ 97 is spectacular.

I owned a 92G LTT Compact and still own a SP-01 Decocker w/ CGW Pro Package. The LTT had the best DA/SA trigger I've ever used. I'm comparing against other guns such as Shadow 2 Orange, P226 X5, and Cajunized CZs. Unfortunately, the rest of the gun didn't work so great for me - mostly regarding how it fit in my hand. It didn't point naturally for me. The LTT has an aluminum alloy frame, so its recoil impulse was no match for the SP-01. SP-01 has much larger & heavier steel frame and fits my hand the way I want; therefore, perceived recoil is softer and it shoots flatter. I've never shot a LTT full-size or Centurion or 92X Performance w/ steel frame, so I might feel differently about one of those vs my SP-01.
