I acquired 2 over the years. I gave one to the older Son not to long ago, mostly for range use.

I think they are great for range & home use, a bit O.K. For woods ‘trail carry’. It’s not hard to get a bit smaller & lighter nowadays.

I didn’t need the last one, but at $325 in mint condition, couldn’t pass it up.

This thread just made me impulse buy a 92FS after doing additional research and wondering why the heck I've never owned one.

Gordon Miller (HK Specialist Store) has police trade ins for $299. For that price I figured I can't possibly go wrong with it.

Huge fan. Large-ish if that's an issue.

Bigly reliable. Mags are CHEAP and easy to find. $15 / per each at Beretta USA currently.

Sometimes they get a bad rap from people who were issued 'beat-to-crap' GI guns while they were in the military.

Not an issue for civilians - purchased guns will be excellent quality across the board. There may be some plastic parts if that matters.

Very slick actions IME - D-spring modification makes the trigger even sweeter. I am pretty accurate with mine even to 50+ yards. Try that with a Glock - and I love Glocks too.

As everyone tells you, they are one of the best full-sized service pistols ever. Mine and a K-frame are the two most reliable pistols I have ever had. Neither ever had any failure to fire or any jam.

The only realistic complaint is that they are a little large.

As far as the grip size, my thumb rides on my middle finger in the same spot as my glock19 with firm grip.

I have had one for 20 years. I have not put a ton of ammo through it but have always liked it. It is large but is also comfortable to shoot. Parts are readily available in the case it breaks. More than accurate for me to have fun with or to use in a self defense situation if need be. Just a good overall pistol.

I think the Summit ones have Trijicon sights.

The Beretta 92, Glock 17 and SIG P226 are 3 of the most beat on, been there, done that, used in every shitty hellhole the world has to offer side arms.

A little too big, a PITA safety location are little more then quirks for a gun that history will look on as legendary.

Use factory / Mec-Gar / MDS Mags and keep up with the the wear items and it’s literally a go to war pistol.

My top two 9mm combat pistols right now are the SIG-Sauer P226 Legion and the Beretta M9A3.

I have been shooting for over 40 years. I have acquired the SIG and the Beretta over the past year and I think they are the pinnacle of out of the box 9mm combat pistols.

I was comparing these two new guns to my old S&W 39 and 1970's Walther P-38 (my first 9mms) and I am amazed at how far we have advanced.

My first favored was Sig 226 and thought I would never find anything to compare it to. Than I got a Wilson 92 combat and now I have the two top 9mm that I ever own.

So I have a comp-tac gladiator OWB snap holster for a HK45C/P30 and I have found it fits my Beretta 92A1 just about perfectly so I figured I would give carrying the big girl a go.

I usually carry an HK P2000 around 3ish OWB in a snap holster, so I obviously use a cover garment etc. I brought the big 92 out today as an experiment and color me shocked it carried far better then I expected. Honestly it worked great with the only real issue being the slide/barrel length.

All in all with a good belt and holster and a proper cover garment (sweat shirt/untucked button down etc. this thing is totally doable for carry.

Good to have options.

Just bought of set of Wilson G10 ultra thin grips for my Brig Tac. They make a chunky grip feel, well, not so chunky. Really transforms the feel.
