A large local gun shop was recently bought out by a bigger gun shop and they have been offloading all of their inventory before the takeover. Yesterday they advertised 50% off guns and 80% off everything else in store. As far as guns went they had a few revolvers, a high point c9, a skyy 9mm and a single remington 870 that someone was already looking at. The revolvers were all brand new, three Charter Arms Bulldogs (44 special) and a pair of Rossi RM64's (4" barrel, blue finish, 6 shot .357mag). Well I looked at the Rossi and gotta tell you, I was surprised with it. It's made by Taurus, uses Smith K-Frame speed loaders and can accept sights from Taurus compact revolvers. With the 50% off, price was $260. I said I'll take one. Brought it home, punched out the pin holding the seratted ramp front sight and replaced it with a XS Green Dot that I had on a Taurus 605. I hit the range with it today and it shot great. No, it didn't out shoot my S&W 66-2 or Ruger Security Six (both 4") but it was close. No, I wouldn't pay over $500 for one of them but for $260 I think I got a great deal. ![]() ![]() Anyone else have one? If so what are your thoughts? On a side note, I snagged two 1791 leather holsters and couple syringes of high temp grease for dirt cheap. The holsters were normally $80 so they got knocked down to $16 each and the grease syringes were like $3 each. This message has been edited. I'd say you did really well. The Rossi guns I have owned have all been great shooters. At that price, I would have bought it quickly as well. Congrats. | |||
