I currently own a Shield, G43, and a 365. Never warmed up to the Shield, it’s up for consignment. The G43 is a nice Glock. That I don’t shoot as well as any of my other Glocks. The 365 is new so I don’t know yet. I don know it feels great in my hand, has outstanding sights out of the box, has great capacity, and it has a pretty near perfect trigger for a gun in this category. Useable but not light. To each his own. I struggle with sine of the logic here though. If I read correctly, someone here is EDCing a comped G34. At that point why not wear a raincoat and a sawed off shotgun ala Kyle from Terminator? lol If I shoot this 365 like it feels, it will become that gun. I’ve had lots of guns that didn’t translate from feel to shooting well though so we shall see. Bottom line, I prefer the smallest gun that I can shoot well and fits the rest of my criteria. I don’t want to carry anymore than is necessary. Of course until it happens I won’t know what is necessary.

Different strokes for different folks dude. I edc a 34 because it works for me, hides under a t-shirt with my iwb rig and does all the things I want it to. You know....like an edc gun. Not everyone is the right size for it but if you can pull it off why not have the gun you can shoot accurately with great reliability? The worlds not getting less crazy, I carry a solid gun that fits lots of different missions. The best thing people can do is tailor their choice for themselves and their surroundings.

Have you tried the 43x with 15 rd sheild mags it's just the best of both worlds.. I love my 19 as it feels great but after I shoot a few mags I go right back to the 43x. I know I sound like a broken record.

No I need to try those. I read the threads about metal mag release and wear on plastic mags and figured I would let everybody else beta test and get back to me with results. Lol As to your comped G34. Good for you. I can’t even imagine the gymnastics necessary to do something as simple as sitting down without screaming “I’ve got a gun” to everyone in the room. Maybe you can pull it off. Maybe you think you are pulling it off. No skin in this game so you do you. Seems a lot in the silly extreme side but not my circus so it’s just my opinion.

This. Plus, you can match the G19’s standard capacity with a 15 round P365 mag.

I've considered the G48 MOS once everything stabilizes pricewise. Be a minute I imagine. I grabbed shield mags a while back and will likely pick up the metal release once the gun is in hand.

You're right, but for the OP it might be irrelevant. If he can carry the G19 full time, it's a better gun for him. The reason to carry a gun like the P365 is that you can carry it in situations you can't carry a gun like the G19. If his situation is such that he can always carry the G19, he's better off.

I doubt the OP even owns a gun, at least I hope not. That statement about pressure on the trigger is one of the dumbest things I've ever read, and that's saying something.

Wait, what?![]() |
It boils down to what you shoot better and better at speed. Both guns have good pedigrees. I often carry my trusty old G26 when I don't need micro-concealment because I can shoot it more accurately at speed. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

You mean you don’t always stick your booger picker in the trigger whether you are going to shoot or not? Priming that trigger can also save nanoseconds... or you could accidentally discharge your weapon at a mistaken identity. ![]()

I agree and its great that we still have so many choices. I love the G19 on paper but its never worked well for me (in any generation). I've tried Gen2's, 3's and 5's and the gun just doesn't fit my hand. Take a G19 slide and put in on a P80 frame and its a whole different story. Thing is, I don't like CCW'ing any full size/double stack gun. Just too much weight and bulk and found I would leave the house without it because I didn't want to deal with it. So considering that, I would never in a million years even think about CCW'ing a G34 but that's just me. I feel like the chances of me being in a situation where I would need whatever advantage a full size gun might offer is pretty slim but that's just me. Something smaller, lighter and easier to conceal means I will carry it every time I leave the house which is a lot better then a full size gun that maybe I will, maybe I won't carry? My point is this... we are all different and there are a lot of factors to consider but in the end, we all have to find what works best for us? What may be the best choice for one person could be the worst choice for someone else. There is no right or wrong here as long as it works for you, is reliable, you train with it and you carry it always.

I rarely carry my G-19 (I have two of them) now that I have the 43X (again, two of them). The Shield mag provides the same capacity in a slightly smaller gun.

Glock's are great guns and the Glock 19 may be one of the most popular concealed carry pistols on the market. I know many people who carry them. The size is outstanding for concealed carry waistband firearm and even Smith & Wesson eventually made their M&P 9 compact almost the same size as the Glock 19. Sometimes people ask me for recommendations and I give them 3 brands which are Glock's, Smith & Wesson, and SIG Sauer. I am sure it will work out just fine for you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Democracy is 2 Wolves & a Lamb debating the lunch menu. I could care less what anyone chooses to EDC. That is totally up to you. I just think it’s stupid to say something like I choose gun X over Y and/because the size difference isn’t that much when the size difference between X and Y is pretty friggin big. I agree everyone has their own opinion on stuff but saying the G19 and 365 aren’t very different in size is fucking stupid and you all know it.

The P365 is smaller than the G43 in most dimensions. Why do you think Glock would build the G43 if the G19 is basically the same size?
