Not sure about 9mm but one of my officers installed one on his Glock 31 against my recommendation and after a day of shooting, it stopped working. Vortex replaced it and it’s sitting in his locker while he decides what to stick it on.
I have a Venom 2 on a Canik TP9SF. I've only a couple of hundred rounds or so thru that one but I haven't had to use "that warranty" yet. So far, no objections.
In comparison the switches on my first gen Venom were a complete POS. Would never adjust for intensity properly, or manually shut off without some amount of consternation. Held zero pretty well however. Had it on a G19, then bought the damn overpriced factory M1913 mount for a rifle, then moved over to one of my shotguns, now in an unused parts drawer. I never could understand how the internet has such glowing things to say about the thing; even the examples we had in store inventory were nearly as janky to use as mine is. Probably should send it back; maybe I'll get a Gen 2 in return which would be a MUCH better solution based on how the one on the Canik is.

I have two of them. I had one on a G19 MOS for about 2500 rounds to see if I liked RDS and then put it on a 10/22 after I bought an RMR- it’s still working. I have another on a S&W Victory 22. No problems with either of them.
I have liked the Venom. Had issues, used the warranty. Lately, however, I've been impressed with Shield. They have an aluminum housing and are made by Trijicon. I've been comparing to the Romeo) and 1Pro, and I think the Shield is a better product. Keep in mind the Shield came installed and was included in the price, so I don't know which is the better value. One drawback-it appears the device must be dismounted to change the battery. The Pro does not.

I had one that worked for a couple hundred rounds mounted on a Walter PPQ before it stopped working and I had to send it back. I got a new one, mounted it on a PCC and had no issues so far. What I’ve heard from fellow competitors is that not uncommon for the first one you buy having issues and the replacements being problem free.

I had one on a FN 509 and it was great though I sold the 509 so now the Venom sits. Very easy to adjust, clear glass and crisp dot, as well as highly cost effective for just a range use gun. For duty or heavy use, I’d probably go RMR or Holosun.
I like the Venom. I have it on a G19 Gen5 MOS. It is clear, low profile and so fare reliable. I have not been carrying the G19 though since I am trying to work out the carry kinks. I carry something else (p239/.40)

I have one on my 6” M586 357 magnum revolver. It has been accurate and reliable. My only complaint is that I can not reduce the brightest of the reticle low enough for my taste.
The best is the enemy of good enough.
