So I purchased this P225 at a firesale price due to the modification around the trigger guard. Gun shoots absolutely amazing. Was this a typical modification made back in the day or did someone just bubba this up to reduce snagging? If this was your P225 would you just leave it as is an shoot the snot of out it or would it bug you enough to consider sending it off to smooth out or re-color? Thanks B

The factory P225's trigger guard was never round. Shoot it and have fun. Wouldn't waste any more money.

I think it looks fine and would leave it alone...except for a #19 mainspring, SRT kit, G10 grips and Trijicon HDs.

Shoot it. Recontour??? You going to have it TIG welded up and reprofiled? Then refinished?

I would leave it like it is.

Of all the bubba’d crap I have seen in my years that doesn’t even start to raise the meters. That actually looks pretty well done.

Agree with cslinger. Definitely shoot/enjoy it and if the finish where the trigger was rounded bothers you, simply have it cerakoted or have some other finish applied.
It's the flag bearer for the Forum and one of my favorites.

Way 'back when, there used to be more squared trigger guards that people were expected to wrap a finger around. Way 'back when, the modification to your pistol wasn't horribly unusual at all.

Another vote for "that looks good", "that seems to be pretty well done" and "leave it alone and go shooting". Honestly, I would never bother to think about it again for as long as I owned the pistol.

Definitely Bubba's, but not bad for a Bubba job, and at least it's not something that will in any way affect function. I wouldn't worry about it, but I also wouldn't bother with a refinish. If you're wanting to restore "collector value", I'd say that ship has sailed. Just shoot it and enjoy it for what it is...a great shooter at a good price.

I would shoot it and live happily ever after.
