Me too, I got out of the 40/357 sig business years ago in a caliber consolidation.
I enjoyed shooting my P229, G33, and G22 with a G31 barrel in it.
JohnnyMac, if you don't mind buying the extra caliber, I'd do it.
I do love my classic Sigs..

colt_saaGlad you were able to make the trade happen.
Even though they did not ship with your P229, those are Factory wood grips
Over the years, the 357SIG has become a big favorite for my autoloaders
I never buy ammunition at the local store, so that is not one of me criteria
I was introduced to the 357SIG cartridge in the 1990s, P239 was my carry gun
Even though I shoot far less these days and I no longer do any demos I still go through 2,500+ rounds of ammunition annually. When buying in quantity 357SIG is about $1 a box more than 40S&W of the same loading. If you handload, 357SIG costs about the same as 9MM.
I have hosted several SIGForum members down here at the range, quite often the MP5/357 is often requested. It never ceases to generate a smile.
With 147 grain subsonics Gold Dots and a can, this is an awesome package
I moved a SEF marked FCG off an older MP5 because I just like describing the markings better.
The original German intent of SEF is:
S = Sicher: Literal translation is 'Safe'
E= Einzelfeuer: Literal translation is 'single fire' or semi auto to us
F= Feuerstoß: Literal translation is 'burst of fire' or full auto to us
Us American guys just like to call them
S= Safe
E= Economical
F= Fun

patwVery nice looking trade. I love the 2 tone slide as it reminds me of the Equinox slide.
Out of curiosity, not that it really matters I am sure but how hard would that be to convert to a 9mm pistol, besides swapping the upper half? That is a neat gun and for me, it would wind up costing me more than I probably need to spend as I would love to get a Sport upper half for it, if I could even find one. That stainless frame is a thing of beauty.

357fuzzI would make that trade in a heartbeat but then look at my handle then you know where I come from. Reloading is your friend when it comes to the 357 Sig. Also, drop in a 9mm barrel for cheaper shooting if that appeals to you.
