(New Pics Added - Yet Another at Pg. 2) There I Was at the LGS Picking Up a 40th Anniversary P226…
…a wonderful offering from one of our fellow members when I glance at the Used Guns case and see a 9mm P229 just sitting there, a lone consignment SIG languishing (with an outstanding price, IMO) among a sea of other arms.

The sales associate was able to whisk it over to the counter where the background check call had just begun…took this pic of the new-to-me duo in the parking lot after.

Nice score, and a German frame to boot. The 229 is a soft shooting 9mm- congrats on both!

The P226 does look pretty nice. Shame we here in WA were denied the opportunity to buy it.

Yeah! I've got one of each too. Actually, two P229's, but only one has classic look.
You gave a nice home to that 229.

Very nice! I doubt I’ll ever find myself without some sort of P229 variant in my collection. 2 Sigs in a day is what I’d call a great day!

An update - I’ve had both pistols to the range a couple of times now, maybe 300-400 rounds each thus far. Both have run flawlessly (as I’d suspected they would). The P226’s DA trigger is more easygoing than the P229’s; I’m likely to experiment with some Armory Craft springs to try my hand at easing that a bit on the P229. Even as-is, though, they both shoot quite well.

I have gunleather in-hand for the P226 (more on that separately) and now some on-order for the P229 along with Hogue aluminum grips for the P229 - I’m really impressed with the set on the P226.

Man, those are nice!

The Grayguns strut system has been my go-to for cleaning up triggers in P22X guns. Pop the factory strut out of your P229 and take a look at the stirrup where it engages the hammer. A lot of them are rough or even have forging marks in them, which will ruin your trigger pull.

The Grayguns part is like glass, and the strut is a little thicker so the spring can't bind or kink at all. I do typically keep my factory springs, though...I've had a few light strikes with the lighter ones provided in the kit. They do make that DA pull even nicer, though.

That is what a Sig Sauer pistol should be.

Those are both sweet! I will second the Gray Guns strut system and SRT sear kit. I have them in all my classic P22? guns except for a P220 and P228 that were tuned by Sig and Gray guns respectfully. All the guns with the GGI parts installed are slightly better than the Sig tuned P220 and at least 95+ percent of the GGI tuned P228. My MK25 has the best action out of all my DA/SA Sig pistols and it was all drop in parts from Gray Guns.
