Does "STX" have a special meaning as related to Sig's 1911 STX or is it just a collection of letters?

Super Tactical Xray vision?

Just kidding, it would be interesting if SIG C/S knew the answer. Nothing on the website.

I was thinking

ST=Stainless
X-Full Size

OR
S=stainless
T-Two tone
X-Full size

So far, I have to go with Rhinowso. Blue Dog's Stainless Twotone Full size makes too much sense.

Sounds like a designation that the folks at Mopar never got around to using. But I like Rhinowso's take...if it really does come with SIG X-ray sights. Damn shame they applied that hideous-looking text decal over those beautiful burled maple grips. An inlay medallion of the SIG logo would have been classier.

If you’ve ever read some of the stuff SIG marketing puts out, it could mean literally anything - from a more logical approach suggested above to someone “just thinking it sounds cool”.

Otherwise you’d never get weapons named “Emperor Scorpion Tactical Combat”... Wink

At least they did away with Diamond Plate and most Rainbow models. Big Grin

It meant nothing when it came out but many were calling it later Sig Tactical Xtreme...I have an early Sig Revolution STX and it meant nothing more than STX at the time
