While not my choice, if the Glock 44 shows to be as reliable as Glock claims it could be a good CCW choice for those who simply can not shoot larger center fire caliber pistols well and that would also mean there are tons of holsters available for it already.
I bet that before too long the Glock 44 will be in the top three best selling 22 pistols if not at the top.

Some folks just like to bitch to be bitching, they could have made a rotating barrel carbine lightweight carbon fiber firearm with interchangeable caliber capability priced it at $199 and people would find a problem with it...
I'll add one to the collection,
Do agree a G48 sized version since it's a single stack would be my preference....

I imagine it will sell well. My Walther PPQ-22 is a fun gun to shoot/train with.

Would have much preferred at 43x sized .380 but even that wouldn’t be legendary.
Yes...a PCC would have been legendary. Particularly a folding one.

The KelTec SUB2000 is a nice folding carbine that uses glock mags, if you have plenty of G17/34 mags it's a great option and not expensive.
Apparently Glock doesn't see that as a viable market yet however theres no doubt it would sell like hotcakes..

On the one hand my inner 12-year old tacticool\mall ninja who stays up way too late watching Die Hard and re-runs of The A-Team is rather unenthusiastic about this .22 caliber Glock. However, anything that was not a bullpup PCC chambered in .44 AutoMag would have been a disappointment so his judgement is, at best, rather questionable.
My inner father, on the other hand, who had been leaning towards a Smith & Wesson M617 to teach my son to shoot on but keeps hesitating on spending over $700 is intrigued by the new Glock.
On the gripping hand, the inner father agrees with the inner 12-year old that a .44 AutoMag bullpup PCC sounds awesome so I don’t know what to say.
Laughing in the face of danger is all well and good until danger laughs back.

Really hoping this is just the first step towards a line up of Glock 22s. I think if it's as good as a PPQ or TX22 it'll be a hit. I'll get one soon for sure, the threaded barrel is already on the website. More details here:
Any idea what that rounded rectangle is on the top of the slide?
My big question now is if it'll be RDS compatible.

Meh I’ll stick with a Taurus TX22

Probably polymer for weight reduction (WAG on my part).

Meh, think I will stick with my S&W M&P Shield 22 compact. Now in 22 Magnum, count me in.

Also sorta hard to put more then 10rds in a straight mag. Those rims on .22 do cause feeding issue when more then 10rds of .22 is stacked in a straight mag.
I think the frame is different on the top but not so much in the bottom. Slide removed pics look to be standard fair gen 5 parts. Changing out the trigger would be number one on my list. All my Glocks have Apex triggers. I agree. Folks wanting a higher round count are not taking into consideration how the .22LR round stacks. It is tricky to add too many more.

Meh...I already have an Advantage Arms conversion. Oh well, maybe something will come along that piques my interest in ‘20.

The ever wise Para had a fatalistic tone in mentioning the Carbine.
I wistfully mentioned an updated 17L.
Looks like a lot of us are still waiting for our hoped-for Glock.

Word on the street is if you pop the rectangle from the slide top, this thing becomes a BELTFED .22lr....!

A threaded barrel makes it an "assualt weapon" where I live.
Glad someone did the smart thing and introduced their non threaded version first as the standard item, instead of as a more expensive option later down the line.

Personally I love it. I’ve been wanting three Glocks for a long time and I got two this year, the G48 and now the the G44. A Glock carbine is the third but I’ve got an AR-9 and a CZ so I’m less interested in a Glock branded carbine now. I’ll be getting one if these quickly!
